I have the HTC Diamond now for few days. I love it but have 2 problem with the phone. 1) the phoen get hot very quickly. i do not know why is design that way. maybe be beacuse too slim. 2) the screen is not that sensative in touching and sometimes do not respond. make you very frostrated. I think HTC Diamond has it's owen way fo doing it not like IPHONE which I have not learn how to do it yet. Anyhow I love the phone I just need to learn how to use the screen.

Hey guys, I have own the Diamond for about 2 weeks now and I must say this phone does impress me. I was reading through the blog and just wanted to help answer some questions some of you have:

1. I have been watching movie on this phone on both Divx and Window Media Player, so far the video playback format that works for me are: divx, .AVI,and MP4

The movie playback is smooth and it displays great color quality. However you will need your headset to get the best sound quality since the speaker is not as good.

2. For all the people living in the USA, my carrier is T-Mobile and I assure you that GSM 1900MHz will perform just fine in most area. (Please refer to T-mobile Map for 1900mhz coverage area) The Edge connection is also working fine for e-mail, MSN Messanger, weather, and Internet browsing (19.99 Internet Plan), but no 3G connection since T-mobile don't have it yet and I doubt it will work even if they have it.

3. The phone can perform a little bit slow if you have many programs running at the same time. I find that running 2-3 applications at a time is the best it can do without hindering its performance. Example: listening to Music and browse internet the same time will work fine. Listening to music while going through photo album will be fine also. If you intend to watch a movie, then that is all you should do since it slows down the phone ALOT!

The battery life I'm not too sure about, but my experience is that 1 hr of doing nothing but listening to music will take about 10% of your battery life. Watching a 2 hr movie will drain about 30-40% of the battery life defend on the brightness you set your screen to.

I have begun to switch off my Edge connection when I'm not using it and it seems to last me a little longer, but I have gone through a full day (talking on phone for 1.5-2 hr, listen to 1 hr of music, and browsing internet on 1 battery charge without having to recharge.)

Hope this helps you guys! The Diamond is a great little phone, but now that the Samsung I900 is out, all bet are off!

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2008i am dying to have this phone.i feel really sorry 4 the apple boys with their new dilemma I am dying to see your face when you pay 800USD for it. Then, I'm dying to see your face the first time it locks up because it has Windows Mobile. I'll be dying to hear the tech call to your mobile carrier when they inform you they don't support this phone or the services you want. Most of all, I'm going to be dying to see the photo with you trying to hide your face a the Apple Store when you purchase an iPhone.

The display resolution of this HTC Diamond is nothing when compared to the amazing Sharp SX862 ....TFT, 256K colors
Size 854 x 480 pixels (Wide-VGA), 3.2 inches(this screen is so beautiful - just like watching your high definationn TV in a shrunk size)!

Nick, 12 Jun 200865k colors? are they living in 2000 still?Believe me, if there's anything great about this phone, it is its colors. 64K colors is enough. What makes it even better than the N95, or even the N96, is that it sports a VGA display, and it may even have the highest display resolution. So don't underestimate the display quality of this phone. It beats them all. Too bad, that's the only thing that this phone really excels at. Well, its animations too. But performance is its major drawback.

This is my 2nd week with the phone. I'm starting to get to know the phone a little much better and I'm adjusting with the change quite well. But there are a couple of main issues that I think are important. 1st, the battery life is really bad. I have bring the battery charger wherever I go. 2nd issue, touch UI is slow, it sometimes gets stuck. To avoid freezing, don't be too quick in navigating. I'm not suggesting that you move your finger really slow, but just not too fast. Also, I noticed that it helps to avoid freezing the touch UI when you wait and make sure to let it finish whatever it's doing before moving to the next application. It doesn't like to be rushed & it does not like multi-tasking. It does not perform instantaneously like the iphone does, but it's not that bad at all either. You just need to know the device and how it behaves, then you can use it w/out any problems. With that said, this phone is overpriced for the kind of performance it delivers. I really want to love this phone, but the thought of posting to sell this phone on Craigslist has been crossing my mind. I'm thinking Samsung i900. Bummer, I'm going to lose money again.

Very quiet & bad sound quality! The touch screen is slow to react(unlike the iphone which is fast & accurate)! Fingerprints are always all over the screen which make it difficult to see/read! Yes, this phone does look nicer than the iphone, but if look is everything; then why not go for the Nokia 8800 Arte - which is 10 times better looking & much more elegant than this HTC Diamond!

Would you guys really buy a phone from HTC considering this... http://www.htcclassaction.org/
Nobody who owns a TyTN2, Touch cruise, touch dual etc will ever buy one again!!!!
I think that is all you need to know to steer away from this phone, and any product from this company!
