Touch Diamond + flash + 1350 mAh battery + card slot =...... Touch Pro.

Anything more perfect?

Already changed my mind.

I have wanted this line of phones starting with the original touch when it first came out. Was going to get the Cruise, however when I went to gt it I saw the diamond. I finally just ordered it today and cannot wait to get it I am so excited. From everything I have researched and all it is definitly better than then the iphone, though they are comming out with a new 3G model I am interested in seeing, which should be new competition for the Diamond. Yes I agree with you all this is supposed to be the top of the line smartphone they claim to have thought of complete details, convienence, luxary and so forth, yet they seem to have gone on vacation when it comes to some details. The Cruise (which I was originally looking to buy) has a micro sd slot, why doesn't the Diamond which is supposedly an upgraded or more top of the line phone? It should, as I am sure most of you would agree with me on. Also, I agree it too should have the larger screen size. I am sure there are probabally other small features that have been overlooked that this phone would do better having. However, over all I am sure it is a relly great phone, probabally one of the top/best out, even considering its shortcomings. Below I am enclosing 2 of my favorite links about the Diamond, both have really good information. The first is a video clip with a head hanco at HTC talking about the phone and demonstrating some of its features. The second is an audio clip with a computer sounding voice comparing it to the iphone that is out now (and it also mentions the new 3G model due out. Well, I hope my small pice of insite helps. Enjoy!

Jennifer

HTC's choice of a 900mAh battery can only be justified by the the use of WinMo 6.1 platform which was developed to be more power-efficient. All the people complaining about the battery life I believe have not experience WinMo 6.1 first hand.
FYI: The Diamond does last longer than "one" day. =)

Yes ROM stand for Read Only Memory which means if you have any documents you only can read it up to the limit of ROM for example if your ROM 128MB you only can open documents up to 128MB

Very Very Nice Phone,
BUT If only HTC had brains
it would have made the Touch Diamond
in a 3.5 Display Screen than the 2.8
Then it would have been a iPhone killer

I don't understand why people are saying it's slow!? Just got it a few hours ago and have been playing with it since. the phone is fantastic and it's my first HTC phone. I love it. HTC shoulda add a microSD slot though. 4gb is not enough for me.

ps, if anyone is around Los Angeles, I recommend addictedtophones.com you can pick up the phones from their san gabriel office.

if UI is slow and batt last for half a day, it means the ph is NOT reliable. When the ph is not reliable, there is no point looking at its spec.

Bought one yesterday and the first impression is good. HTC really work hard on the interface and although I find it more show than use, it does look very impressive with that VGA screen. In a few area it looks like the iPhone, especially in some of the menus. Battery life is as bad as everyone says. Overall it is a good phone but needs a few adjustment. It is not a business phone though with the lack of a keyboard.

rvbarreto, 02 Jun 2008It has VGA screen? No. You can find 'real' VGA screen in the Sharp SX862.

Btw, this phone is very slow(just like the Cruise)!!!
