All I want to know... moreIf it is a mobile program, in .exe format, then you have to connect to the computer via active sync and install from the computer. If it's not a mobile program then it can't be installed on the PPC.

Thanx in advance.There are 3rd party programs on 1800pocketpc.com and freewarepocketpc.net that offer the ability to download and install .exe programs and files directly on the htc diamond and the programs from those 2 sites are entirely free but if you do not want to go through the hassle of looking for the program to do so you can do it through your windows xp or vista computer via the active sync or windows mobile device center all you do is download the program to your pc, open/install and then the next time you connect through sync it will install to your device. all thats left with that is you have to watch your phone and answer where to put the program (device, or internal storage) I would suggest internal storage because either way it takes up some of your devices memory but it takes less device memory if you install to your internal storage. hope this is helpful

Thank you Rajeev for your answer, but I know those 2 options you mentioned. All I want to know is if exe files are compatible with this phone. I have installed some java, cab and zip files straight the way you said, but not able to do so with some exe files I got from hadango.com Thank you again

hopeday, 11 Jun 2009Can anyone tell me how I can install exe file or is it not compatible. Thanx in advance.simple.. if u ve a file u think is for ur diamond, it should work in one of these two ways
1. once the file is on your computer, connect ur phone to computer with usb cable, go in for the active sync option on phone screen when prompted( of course u should ve installed active sync on ur computer first).. now click on the file on ur computer.. if it runs on computer, it ll install the program or application on ur phone straight away
2. if it does not run on computer, just copy the file on to the phone, while still connected to computer thru usb( use explore option on active synce pop up on computer screen to select download loction on phone)... disconnect phone from computer... use file explorer on phone to locate the copied file.. click on it on ur phone and it should now run on ur phone and install the application or program if it was meant for ur htc diamond
else just delete it thru remove program application on the diamond

is there a phone sexier and more feature loaded than touch diamond in india at or below Rs20,000? 1340 mAH battery available as standard is better than orignal 900 mAH but still using internet drains battery fast.. how does nokia E71 compare to this..apple's I phone in indian context is way too expensive for the features and flexibility it offers.. only genuine comments please

This is a good windows mobile, if u spend a little time to set up an tweak it.
I updated my Rom with 2.03.407.3 and the latest official Radio 1.11.25.1. My phone battery last 2-3 days, very good Gps and Wifi signal. U have to turn of the 3G, and the baterry time will be good. U can download the latest versions from XDA developer site, and u can find there a lot of usefull comments.
