Working in Telecoms, I get to use a number of smartphones/PDAs. The HTC Touch Diamond is dissappointing in many areas. Even with the Touch Flo interface, it is difficult using the handset single handedly. Compiling text and email is a nightmare as the virtual keyboard takes up most of the screen. You could possibly end up with a huge bill as data services connect automatically and if you do not watch the miniscule HSDPA/3G/GPRS icon, you could totally miss this. It does not hold the 3G/HSDPA signal well as directly compared my N95 8GB. Video streaming is good when done over Wi-Fi. I am yet to install apps, but have already lost interest in using this device. The handset design is sleek and Touch Flo entertaining, but that's about it folks.

head down to www.xda-developers.com and that will be your only stopping place.
all software needed to make your phone glorious to use.
one word of advice...apply the tweaks that are available on the site and your battery will improve significantly..these people complaining of battery life probably havent and probably leave there wifi bluetooth and screen brightness on all the time..
great phone

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970this is just another windows mobile handset.u can just handle in the same way as u handle ur windows pc.diamond is a very powerful one. i own it.it has high downloading speeds. it will be more fruitful if u can even opt for unlimited 3g data connection on ur SIM card.

by the way where r u from??

Worst phone I ever had. The baterry dies on me in half day when new. I do not want to know what I will experience in several months. I do not recomande it at all. It blocks constantly even thou I did not installed yet anything on it except the software it came with. I had far better phones than this one (I-mate Jas Jar)

Hi Guys, Im mobile illterate, and I just purchased the Htc Diamond, was wondering how you customise the phone like layout and settings etc...
can anyone suggest a website that explains different customisations and the in's and out's of the phone, would really appreciate it!

ps. once you click off the internet window does that mean its completely turned off - once again, im illiterate when it comes to phone and technology...
cheers!

I did lots of research before buying this phone and was put off by a lot of the negative comments. Especially the poor legibility in direct sunlight.
however i have now bought a diamond and it is proving very very good. the sunlight has minimal effect on the screen and ive spent the last 3 days customising the phone. it is sluggish at times but you can put up with the little quirks.
nice phone..nice size..and yes the battery is a little on the poor side but hey i dont mind charging it up once every night.
recomment this phone over the 3g iphone because i have owned the 1st gen and 2nd gen iphones and this beats it hands down in terms of size and appearance and customisation.

ive done a registry hack to enable geotagging for pictures. does anyone know how i open the picture to get the co-ordinates etc

For quite a while now ive been thinkin of getting the sony ericsson g900 on contrqact as my new phone. After the touch diamond was released it looked quite good. I am going to get a contract in the next week and i was wodnering, if i should get g900 or the touch diamond. Im looking fora phone that isnt too bulky and has a good camera browser and mp3 player. also not too complicated and not relying on touch fully. Which one should i go for?

Very Nice And Good PDA.But if compant set a fliper with the CAMERA back side od the PDA that will more nice n safe.Because that flip/protector[Like Sony Erricson] will protect the CAMERA Lens.
