I have been using this phone since a month and not detected any problens with it. Ofcourse it goes warm when I use net via wi-fi for a long time.
To all those who willing to buy this I would say that every phone has its upside and downsides. Nothing is perfect.
So neglect this queries and grab one... have fun...

not really a good pda. its seems very nive in the picture and its very fast.... but it is only average interms of interface response.
good thing it has gps.

is it possible to lock messages in htc? like requiring a password everytime you open messages?

It does get hot using it more than about 5 minutes or talking on it more then 5 minutes on mine too. it is small plastic phone. I do also having problem using the tuch screen since the screen is too small compair to IPHONE. I have already looked at Samsong i900 and I will change my HTC with samsung. It seem like it is easier to use than HTC for tuch screen and watching video's and so on.

The fact is:
A Extended battery can be purchased for around £30.00 pounds. The orignal one that comes with phone is a 900mAh. THe new extended battery is 1800mAh. ALMOST DOUBLE THE BATTERY LIFE
The Slowness in the GUI can be resolved by having the firmware updated

can i wrote SMS with handwrite,because HTC Touch Diamond has handwrite recognation,or is it that only for office documents?

souran, 02 Aug 2008i had touch cruise for 4 months and had no problem i have diamond now for past 20 days no soft... moreI've heard a few a who had the heat under the D pad issue they came up it has something to do with the GPS being on, generally if you let run all these enhacments like wifi run it will heat things up and drain you faster.
The back cover being rubbish is a common issue to all users.
A solution to all your problems might be in getting a more hefty battery, like the article here states they are 2 types, one original by HTC and one by some chinese org. both come with new back covers which on the none original is flat so the paint won't come off and it won't wobble around on your desk.

The D-pad part of phone gets really hot even when i am not using the phone.and the entire mobilet gets extremly hot when i talk over 10mins.and the back cover paint started to come off already.dose any body have same issuse tanx in advance.

nice device i got mine from (http://www.connectworld.com.au)i think they have so far the lowest price in australia.. i love the device it takes time to get use to it .. also telstra customer can have it on plan from telstra

toshka, 01 Aug 2008O yes the phone released in May and untill now there is NO GPS map?! i have the software loade... morewell. i think you are just trying be funny. i dun think htc has ever say such a thing i got my diamond during the launch and i had installed the mapking SOFTWARE and it works perfectly fine.
