I have been reading this site for ages whilst considering buying a Diamond. (I did the same for my HTC TyTn II). It is available as an upgrade from Vodafone in the UK. I'm an every day business user - not a tech kind of guy. I was very nearly put off by all the comments on here - so many negatives but I decided to give it a punt.
At first I hated the phone, took a few hours to get used to but later in the day, the phone, it's functions and how to use became second nature and it is the best phone I have ever used, by a country mile. I would imagine that someone who has never used Windows Mobile might struggle with it for a bit longer.
I love the look and feel of the device, the software and the lack of the keyboard that i enjoyed with the TyTn II. OK, touchflo is a tad slow but it adds to the smoothness of it, a very nice way to work generally. Data imput by on screen full qwerty is great even using fingers and not the stylus.
The only real disapointment is the battery however I went into this eyes open know that would be an issue so how can one complain about it? I understand there is an extended battery which will increase the depth of the device, so I will be looking at buying one.
As an everyday business user that wants a very smart device and easy connectivity to exchange server, this is a great great device!
Can someone tell me if the rom ver1.37.707.1 wwe ; radio : 1.00.25.05 ; protocol : 184.108.40.206u).is compatible for the Dutch(NL)
Does anyone know if the HTC Touch Diamond works well with Apples iCal and addressbook and mail (I am a mac user)?

I got the phone a few days back. The screen looks excellent. Touchscreen works flawlessly using only my thumb. It's eye-candy + functionality in a WM6.1 device. I got no complaints yet.
Those of you who want to upgrade their rom can go to www.xda-developers.com

ashi, 19 Jul 2008hi guys i am planning to buy htc diamond how is the phone i read almost all the comments bu... moreMan, i tell you with its awesome design it is an awesome phone to use but, if at first it is a bit confusing but you will get used to it and adapt pretty fast. Top of the line this one.
ill be honest, when i first got this i was very unsure about it. it crashed ALOT and was so stupidly slow it annoyed the hell out of me so i just kept using my 6300. last night i went onto xda-dev forums and flashed the ROM. now i cant stop playing with it, definately well worth the money. its all about polishing this gem up, my only problem with it is the battery life. lets just say its not brilliant.

Hello! I want to syncronize my old nokia e50 with HTC Touch Diamond for contacts...can you help me?Thanks
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970You are not making sense. Most of the consumer complaints on this phone are valid. This phone does have major issues. Some of us don't have time to figure out how to fix its bugs. That does not make us fools. Smartphones should be easy to use. This phone is easy to use. That is not the problem. The problem is its erratic performance and behavior. What's foolish is, why did they release this phone with so many bugs in it? Sorry, but some of us busy professionals don't have time like you do to look for upgrades. We just want a smartphone that works.
