hi all , I live in the middle east, and I'm planning to get a device from the US and I wonder if it works here?? Second does this phone support arabic language ; i mean just display messages or writing for example, actually I dont care about the whole interface to be in arabic language..
Plz any one have an Idea???

Someone PLEASE help me, I have this phone, i have free 200GB Interent usage each month.... morethe X does not close any program in windows MOBILE by default it just makes them run in the background. to really close a program you have to stop it from task manager. in the HD there is a shortcut to it in the top right corner of the home screen. but this is not all you can do to cut down data plan usage. if you are using windows live you should go in options and under sync schedule set it to manual so it does not auto connect without you knowing. Any other software you have that connects for info you should see if it has a manual setting. And if you want to go one step further install HD tweak and there is a auto disconnect setting for when your data connection is not is use for a few seconds.

love, 02 May 2009thanks to you all guys out there for clarifying my doubts. Few queiries more, wil u be able to... moreI agree with Anthony, there is nothing you can't do in WinMo.. I'm not 100% sure that the HD will be upgradable to WinMo 7, the reason is:
- WinMo 7 has a Multi-Touch Feature which allows you to touch multiple things on screen
- Touch HD needs a better graphics chip,
BUT that doesn't mean you can't run WinMo7 on the HD, You can but without the 3d graphics features and the Multi-Touch..
I think HD has alot of RAM for your work.. And its a must have..
I use PocketPC since 2001 (iPaq) they weren't phones back then.. Then they came out as phones (WinMo) 2003, i use one for a year and then jump to Symbian for a couple of months, then again to WinMo and its impossible to compare WinMo to anything out there.. Its so professional..
The HD comes with some lagging problems and you need to unlock, upgrade (flash) to the Diamond 2 software, but it will be worth a while as i said earlier. Then again i heard that the Diamond 2 has a perfect ROM with no lagging and problems. So i also recommend you get that and never bother with upgrading your Rom for now.. They have similar features but the D2 doesn't have the 3.5mm Headphone Jack and has a 3.2" screen with a Zooming bar which i really think would be useful for office and other apps.
Symbian is good, but not good enough to be used professionally like WinMo..

Hi, i Am new to windows mobile , and... moreHi Dr. the omnia hd has nice spec. but if you said you want to edit Microsoft Office files the Omnia hd can't do that. it only has file viewers not editors. and what your I.T. said about windows mobile has some through to it. but for older phones with lower spec than the HTC HD. I know this because I had the qtec s200 and had all the problems with freezing they are talking about. but that is not the case now. as for mod/tweaking this is what I think. if you are the kind of person that wants every new thing that you see, you will be tweaking till the end of time because windows mobile will let you do that. But if it's a work phone just put on what you NEED for work and the tweaking stops there. you need not buy this windows mobile phone if you find a better one. but I would buy A WINDOWS MOBILE PHONE if you want to edit Microsoft Office files on it. look for one with high ram and process... if you want to work on big files.

SNAP, 01 May 2009To dexter: What does the WEATHER application use to get its data? and are you from the US? it gets the weather info from a online data base. im not in the US. for my country the info is uploaded from the airport.

Anthony, 30 Apr 2009what ROM version are you running? Robby.. im now seeing your post because I've been busy. your ROM is old and should be updated. if you are afraid to use a cooked rom, you can get the official update rom on the HTC site. 1.56.405.1 (43972) WWE date 03/06/09. don't forget to backup your phone with active sync first so you can put back your info when you're done.

So i think you should change the radio version. When i listen to music and watch movies i charge every 2 days. When browsing and Working on documents i charge 3 days.
Best Radio for latest rom is 1.14.25.24

1.do u like the m... moreThe music is great, especially if you install different player, i installed s2p and s2a2 like you have on Iphone. The battery is like on any touch screen phone last's up to 12hrs of use, not much, best to charge it every night! I had Iphone and it's a toy comparing to the HD.
This is a great phone you have loads of programs you can install, change the user interface and even the complete ROM.
Go on xda-developers page you will see the options.

If you're looking for a phone with a keyboard hardware, Either you wait for the Touch Pro 2(Screen 3.6") or get the Pro (Screen 2.8") or Sony Ericsson Xperia (Screen 3.0).
But i'm used to the On Screen keyboards and its really the same to me on the HD..

Edit/create word & excel docs, browse the internet (full pages), watch you tube videos, watch movies, listen to music, view maps, recieve and send emails and view full attachments. The list gos on............
