HTC Touch HD - user opinions and reviews

What is the general opinion of the on screen keyboard? I am thinking of getting one but have been using the TyTn 2 with the Qwerty keyboard.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2009you can get alot of free games and apps from www.freewarepocketpc.net or xda developersI have looked at both freewarepocketpc and xda, and unsurprisingly, the games/programes I was interested in and tried to download wouldn't work on my HD. Still looking for a game called reversi or othello. Perhaps this phone is too advanced for the games available.
Any ideas anyone?

In my opinion the sound is not as good as the Sony Ericssons walkman phones but a lot better than other kinds of SE phones, like their camera phones for example. It's not the phone of choice for the hardore music lover, but a great smartphone for anyone who loves music.

Yesterday I bo... moreauto setup is off in your phone so you will have to do it manually. tap on start, then settings. tap the connections tab and start "connection setup" pick your country and provider. follow the prompts, and it should work after that.

Hi James, tnx for answering my question. I did turn on the data connection in Comm Manager, but it's not working. Do I have to add new modem or manage existing connections? tnx for helping me out, nobody can help me out on this. I think i have to call HTC up for this =(

Dirk, 23 Mar 2009Hi Anthony, is there a possobility to zoom in or out on the pictures like you can do with the... moresorry no phone running windows mobile can have multi touch. because the OS can't do it. not even desktop windows can do it. but on the good side you can pan a pic after it's zoomed. just press on it without moving. then you will see a pan keyplan show up in the corner. once it's there you can pan the pic with one finger. let me know when you try it.

Hi guys,
I bought an unlock HTC touch HD and I use my T-mobile sim card on it. Yesterday I bought the data plan on my phone so I can go online. However, my phone keep showing message of cannot connect to EDGE and ask me to either reset the phone or tap setting. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? Is there something wrong? I tried to get online but I couldnt. Thanks alot guys.

Hi Anthony,
I mean is there a program to download on the touch HD so it will work like on the iphone to zoom in on a photo, open 2 fingers to zoom in and close 2 fingers to zoom out.
I find it not so handy to turn with the clock or against the clock to zoom in or out, and then you can not move the photo on the display. then you have to zoom out again and zoom in on an other spot on the photo:

It is a very good phone , however I find it a bit heavy to hold and the on/off button is difficult to press !

I have been looking for a simply, user friendly gps program for my HD. Checked the net, and found plenty of programs. I tried 3, and found them all awkward to work. Are there any GPS programs available that are simple to use, like a TOMTOM?

I've had my HD for a week now, and chuffed with what it can do. It's a toy, a tool, if it was human and female I'd propose marriage.
However, it's very complex, where can I find games that work on the HD? I tried downloading Othello, and couldn't get it to work. I suppose it works on simpler phones, not on this top end model. Anyone? (for "games", read free games)

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Which Is best comes down To personal preference. If you like a touch screen and windows OS then HD is for you. If not a fan of windows and like keys then innov8 is worth getting. Both phones do pretty much the same. HD is better for web brousing and multimedia but innov8 has a much better camera. HD camera is poo!
