To be more precise 1.6 is for USA and 2 for Europe and most countries all over the world. The less value the better. All companies have to say the s.a.r value for each model. Search before you decide my friends.

Specific absorption rate (SAR) is a measure of the rate at which radio frequency (RF) energy is absorbed by the body when exposed to radio-frequency electromagnetic field. It is defined as the power absorbed per mass of tissue and has units of Watts per kilogram. The accepted max value is 2 in more countries with values under 0.89 supposed to be excellent and desirable. I suggest to all who read this to search s.a.r value also with all other characteristics for bying their new phone. Precausion is better than try and fix it after.

cell phones are not cameras people so stop being some kind of pro camera man wannabe. if you want to take nice pictures, there's something called a camera? stop being cheap and get both.

If the color complainters want to see the difference between 16 bit (64k) color and 24 bit (16 mill) color, just switch the Color Quality under Windows Display Properties. Come back here and let us know if you really need 24 bit color with display screen. Only time you need 24 bit is when you need to print to a color printer. Unless you need to "print screen" your PDA all the time, there is no need for 24 bit. The computer can tell between 16 bit and 24 bit but you can't. The computer is slower in 24 bit mode compare to 16 bit because it can tell the difference. PS. there is no difference between 24 bit and 32 bit either.

              My friend don't bother to mention the s.a.r values. hd:1.30 iphone:0.974 omnia:0.39.
This is also an important parameter which you forgot to mention. Many people are concerned about radiation and we all must be carefull before we decide and finally buy.

well i read alot about incorrect comparing the phones here lets get it right now...
                top differences:
HTC HD: excelent VGA res. - good RAM (288mb) - good cpu (528mhz)- TV OUT - acceptable TouchFLO 3D - 3.5 mm audio jack - good battery life - not realy good camera

Sumsung omnia: disapponting screen res. - good cpu (624mhz) - internal memory (8/16mb) - TV OUT - good camera

iphone: good screen res. but not like htc hd - powerfull touch screen (multi touch) - internal memory but no card slot - 3.5 m audio jack - bad camera - very limited useability like messaging and bluetooth and ... - TV OUT - good bttery life - good ui and easy to use os
so to sum it up u must think of what u need to have?! and what is realy important to u? if u whanna camera get omnia or whanna just easily do ur things and not interested to changes or accessories get iphone or ur a pro and whanna get somthing that is as big as a world to make it the way u what it then ur gonna get htc hd !
that ur choice but remember nothing is complete and un-beatable! :)

I've reading a lot of comments an there are so many complaints about the 65k screen and that it should be 16m colors. well, whats the point the naked eye cannot really tell the difference, and i would like those complaining about the screen to first name all 65k colors (without looking it up)... if those people name all those colors, then i believe that you have the right to complain about the screen

there is no difference if you are looking to a 16 millions color and a 65k... you are not a super human to notice the difference.

its the resolution that counts. not the color.
                    ha ha ha!

KAY, 21 Sep 2008BUFFBOY: Unless you're a human generator, my advice to you is never get close to HTC phones. ... moreWhat you are saying apply to any brand of PDA phone. With our current battery technology, the only way to fix it is to use an higher mAh battery. Which in turn, would increase the over all thickness and weight of the PDA phone. Which most user will surely complaint. You'll see what I mean by putting an extra capacity battery into any device. ie, camcorder, phone, digital camera, laptop etc.....

htc_fan, 20 Sep 2008Still inferiror display to iPhone's 16MB colors. The rest seems better.are you having a laugh. the display absolutely annihilates the iphone's display.

                                it has twice the resolution!!

Unless you're a human generator, my advice to you is never get close to HTC phones. Battery life is pathetic and what they say on their website is really ridiculous. If you use Wlan, Agps and browse a lot you'll get almost a day of use if not less. If you're a heavy talker, 1 hour is you're roof. If you really like their gadgets, like I do, get yourself a car charger, keep them plugged as much as possible.

close but no cigar! missing internal memory of at least 16gb and no flash on camera? what's up with that? don't these manufacturers realize these flaws? just like my omnia is missing a hot swappable micro sd slot and stylus slot. next generation win mobile touch phones should have an 8meg cam with xeon flash plus all the bells and whistles, 16+GB internal memory, and user friendly interface. wake up!!! hire some new developers!!!
