How can it be the best phone so far? It CANNOT write 640*480 video like other phones and with 5MP camera it SHOULD be capable of that, it has not got xenon flash in fact it HASN'T GOT EVEN FLASH!, it has not even 4 or 8 or 16 GB internal memory like other phones do, it has the same not well functionable not very user friendly TouchFLO system of diamond and pro and the same processor with them slower than other phones and 1.3 s.a.r value which all can understand how much your head gets fried. SO HOW CAN IT BE THE BEST? And the others in better price first. Come on think first. It's far from beeing the best. Very far.

Hold it! Hold it! Hold it! I have just made a discovery. The HTC Touch HD is a misnomer. Both the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro have higher practical resolution than HTC Touch HD. Pixels stated and diagonal length of screen only have meaning when the length and width dimensions are given.
HTC Touch HD's screen has an image aspect ratio of 16:9. It has a diagonal of 3.8inches (screen); which necessitates a width of 3.31 inches and length 1.86 inches. Since the screen has 800*480 pixels we can work out a value of 62235 pixels/square inch.
If one now does similar maths for the Touch Pro and the Touch Diamond, taking into account that its screen has a 4:3 image aspect ratio, we attain a surprising value:
      81633 pixels/square inch!!
The conclusion is that the Touch Pro and the Touch Diamond have higher definition ( ie higher resolution ) than the misnamed Touch HD. The latter has a bigger screen in terms of cross sectional area and width BUT LESS resolution!

I really hope this phone comes to Verizon, I am ready to get a new phone but I do not want to switch just so i can get the Iphone. Hopefuly they can pick this phone up, I feel they are lacking in touch phones compared to other carriers.

After deep meditation, the answer is obvious! The answer is HTC Touch Pro HD. In other words add a hardware QWERTY to this device. One can now view the full width of web pages on the screen without scrolling, and also speed type. I do not see the allure of a Touch HD without a QWERTY. Input is alot slower.
Nokia's E90 owes its success to the phenomenal 4 inch widescreen coupled to the tactile 5 row QWERTY.

                              1. It does not have multitasking whereas WinMO phones do have and that is the first reason why they tend to go slow.

                              2. One cannot easily customize iPhone like WinMo.
