HTC Touch HD - user opinions and reviews

HI,
I just did a software update and when I synched my HTC with the PC afterwards, the e-mail settings did not come back and now I can't set it up. I have been trying for the past hour...
Has anyone encountered that before and what is the solution?

Dexter Morgan, 21 Sep 2009So if i connect a stock hTC touch HD to a PC, i can't use it as a hard drive unless i install ... moreyes a new unlocked phone comes with .net 3.0 and it can be used in drive mode.
but some programs will not work or install unless .net 3.5 is installed on the phone. and you can't get .net 3.5 as a .cab file.

All i know is you should have NETframe 3.5 to use Active Sync.. But i can use my HD as Hard drive and install cabs, or better yet i can take my friends Tilt (TytnII) to install any cabs on it too with out NETframe 3.5..
You mean facebook needs it?

If 2, it will be cheaper and will have a free win6.5 upgrade in October.. I'd go for that, but good luck with the battery, if you're a person who charge his phones battery in a daily basis i'd say go for it..
If you get the HD, you'll need to unlock it and flash cooked Roms (Operatin system) to perform like or even better than the Diamond 2..

I have been offered this handset by orange as a replacement to the nokia 5800. The problem is it is an older handset and I can't find one to try, once I accept the HTC I can't change it, any advice or should I push for a newer model if possible. It has to be a touch screen though. A decision is needed today. Thanks

i phoned orange and a chap there talked me through putting face book on, he told me to goole 'facebook for mobiles' then i clicked on the link and it downloaded to my phone, i then saved it to my memory card and hey presto sorted.
thanks again to anthony and dexter, next im going to try put music on lol

i got the htc touch from a friend for 2o bucks!! what a steal, the only problem is that its completely in german!! is there any cooked roms, software, anything i can download or pay to install windows mobile 6.1 in english on this phone. PLEASE HELP!!

All/most new programs you install need .net 3.5 to be installed on the phone for them to work or even install. this phone comes with .net3.0
You don’t have problems with installing programs because dutty roms come with “.net 3.5” built in to it.
When liz installs “.net 3.5” the programs will install right from the phone as you said. But “.net 3.5” is an .exe file that needs to be run on your PC and sync to the phone.
