206, 03 Aug 2009Thank u for your reply. It seems that u and other experts here prefer cooked roms. Any way... morethis is a great phone to buy and it is touch screen (I never use the stylus)the only other I would recommend is the HTC Touch Pro2, for those that need the slide out keyboard.

I have this phone for already 6-7 months. It's time to buy another, newer better phone.
I am happy to say that I can't find anything better than this HD. With this HD, thanks to it's big screen, and fast CPU, I can do everything with it. Perfect USB Memory stick, Great music experience, 80% of all movies are actualy possible to watch on it, TomTom it's superb on it, and all the other apps that you can put on it are working great.
I am surprised that for the first time in the last 5 years, when I changed phones every 4-5 months, I will actually keep on using the HD.
The only phones that caught my eyes are the Omnia HD and the HTC Hero, but this ones are not on the Danish market yet..
iPhone 3GS just got released and I am tempted to have it, only to have something new in meaning of OS and experience. But what could I do with it, if I even can not use it as an USB Memory stick??? And for 80 Euros per month... well... I would not mind having the iphone but, with HTC HD I was able to do everything (like with a laptop), so i think the HTC HD, even today is one of the best phones I had(and still have it)

Any way thanx for the information.

        But i need some help!
I wanted to buy this fone, but now i'm thinking of waiting for htc's new fones. Coz they're adding some good hardware improvements like straight talk and touchscreen etc.

I won't change my fone for a long time coz software updates are available every day! So i want to buy a good fone and keep it.
Do u think there will be considerable improvements in the new htc phones?

206, 02 Aug 2009Can anybody please explain me the difference of cooked roms and htc's roms?cooked roms for a phone means... a rom made to work on the phone but was not made by the phone manufacture.
some reasons people use a cooked rom are... want to change default language. want to change OS or OS version. want to change interface or cooked rom may be the same just more stable.

Samsung has great devices now, Nokia does not have great devices(N97 is slow) only the N86 is good, but Samsung has better phones(Omnia HD, Omnia II), and HTC also has great phones, only the camera flash is missing, but a lot of people don't care...

Samsung Omnia HD released the phone 2 months ago with the the Symbian operating system, but the hardware was too much for a symbian phone since you can't tweak how the system works. But look at the new Omnia II, its Windows and surely the most powerful phone today..
Unfortunalty not alot of Rom cookers for Samsung..

Regarding the available phones, i'd recommend to buy one of the following:

                              1- Samsung Omnia II (Windows)
2- HTC Touch Pro 2 (Windows)
                              3- HTC Hero (Android)

And if people wait for the X2 or X3, its not worth the wait, why? Because HTC are unleashing devastating devices later this year..
