Hi...
i have touch pro...
Very unfortunate to say that i got this call from europe and was told that would be able to use in any part of the world.
here in india, the swedish language version is not understood nor the concerned Auhorised Dealer is ready to Install the new software in English version.
now the phone has become useles..
My personal view...never bye handsets without english version ..provided all the Authorised dealers including the maker{htc}agrees to Install the new software.

Very Dissapointed with HTC .....

Been thinking of upgrading my HTC Touch to something better in the HTC's series.

I got a tricky question on my mind. Is Touch Pro worthwhile getting at this point in time, given that Touch Pro2 is around the corner? Maybe the answer is obvious... just take the newer one. Well...any comments?

VHD, 27 Feb 2009Recently, I was given a chance to purchase the Touch Pro in the form of the AT&T Fuze. I was g... moreAlright, so this is an update of my minor review of the Touch Pro that I did in February. It is now May, so I came to write about what I did during the last few months in order to improve my experience with the phone.

To begin, my issue with fingerprints? Surprisingly, I eventually became used to its appearance. I still find myself cleaning it fairly often and showing it off to my friends is a bit embarrassing because I have fingerprints all over it, but it is no longer a huge issue (though I still remember to look our for it when looking at new phones).

However, performance is now a different matter. Since owning the phone, I have decided to do the smart thing, and change the OS to a custom made one. Thank God HTC phones have such a dedicated community. They do a good job too. After I installed a customized Windows Mobile 6.1 (and 6.5 later), the performance improved tremendously. Now there is actually a decent performance increase over the previous phones.

Truthfully, there are still performance issues in some area, but a lot of the issues have also been fixed. Furthermore, the custom ROMs really show off the capability of the phone far better than the original ROM does.

Unfortunately, there are still some remaining issues (resolution still make some games/apps problematic), but for what it's worth, the improvements (especially in the web browsing experience) is great enough to negate the disadvantages. At least in my opinion since I surf the web a lot on my phone.

Ultimately, I myself do not own the phone anymore (sold it a while back and got a different phone), but as shown by my above words, I do have a much higher opinion of the Touch Pro now. Would I recommend now?

Well, it depends. If you're not uncomfortable with learning how to and changing the ROM of the phone, then I would most certainly recommend it. On the other hand, if you intend to use the original ROM inside the phone, and not change it, then the answer is still no, I would not recommend it.

I think for the HTC Touch Pro, the ONLY main problem is about the battery life time, as it only lasts for a day or a day and half
another minor problem is about call waiting (this problem is with all windows mobiles), when u call someone and he has another call, ur windows mobile doesn't tell u that u r on waiting (although other mobiles OS do so)
i think That's it
