Carlos Villanueva, 07 Aug 2008Is this cellphone going to work for Mexico????yes, but 3G may be not work.
I have a HTC (at&t) Tilt, and the sliding mechanism is fine. I've had mine about a year, it gets opened/closed 3-4 times a day, and it's just as tight as it was the day I got it. I prefer the slide than the flip phones. Hinges always broke on those, but the slide mechanism (at least on the tilt) is METAL, not plastic.
According to this website. The HTC Touch Pro is already in stocks for sale. http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=25097

Anonymous, 06 Aug 2008Im not a big fan of sliding, rotating and clam type phones, as their moving mechanism worn out... moreI have been using the HTC 8125, which has sliding keyboard, for almost 3 years with no problems (with the keyboard anyway... the camera isn't working right and I'm ready for an upgrade...). I really like the keyboard and would not be concerned about breakage or dust.
Comes out September 1st, 2008
and it's going to cost around $930 US

Vodafone UK release date: 31st August 2008.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Don't even bother with the nokia, it's Touch Pro, Xperia or I900.
1 day to go
2 days to go can't wait hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
In response to the question about the sliding mechanism wearing out, I've had a TYTNII/Kaiser for about a year now and although as you rightly said it does get a bit dusty underneath the mechanism works just as well as ever. I honestly believe that the HTC phones are very well made, they just seem really solid in comparisson to phones I've had in the past. I know quite a few people have had problems with sliding phones breaking/wearing out but I think with the touch pro you'll be fine.
