I am working daily with PDA since years, owned over the time maybe 10 or more. I really want to tell to all people on this forum whatever if they own the device or not, whatever if they give serious comments or not. This device is a real TOP product. This is the first PDA that really can replace a laptop on short business trips. Do not misunderstand me, it is not a PC, but a very very good and fast PDA mobile who really can handle a lot. Perfect ? sure not,but much better as all we had till now
Point taken but at the same time their has been some bizarre posts. It's obvious some people don't own the device and have alternative motives.
I do not know why you guys are being so hostile towards ChrisL. This PPC was not built by God. It was built by humans and machines. Therefore there is always the possibility of a faulty unit. Chris, my advice to you is to return the device and ask for another. The HTC TyTN II has a reputation for being an outstanding performer; so give it a proper chance. Unfortunately some people on this thread go as far as worshiping the phone and get incredibly worked up when one states a point of view. Do not let it worry you. This thread is for everyone. Anyway, try a second unit of TyTN II. Your problems simply could have been caused by a faulty device.
to ChrisL: do you really buy htc tytn II and you see those problems or in dream you buy tytn II and it has those problems?
at&t has launched something similar called the tilt...
camera is ok, but as every mobile, in the dark it is not useful. I have the pda exactly one week now and it performs perfect
how easy is the phones touchscreen to use? Do I need to use the stylus all the time, or is it possible to touch it with fingers (assuming my fat fingers are small enough!)
Also, can anyone give any opinions on the performance of the camera, especially in darker conditions? I think this phone is awesome, and they only thing letting it down is a decent flash for the camera
Right I've just read all user opinions and it seems YYgI -lord vader- has been upto no good. His comments range from symbian being the better*oh dear* to telling people you change a theme by going to settings/ today screen and clicking beam!Mr vader beam is for sending.Quit the crap man.
I've got gmaps and TomTom.Gmaps dosen't seem to work since I installed TT.As tomtom works perfectly i can only assume some settings have to be tweaked.I noticed on a website the tytnII gps receiver totally hammered the n95's gps chip.
the GPS works fine on the At&t tilt
dont know about Tytn I think u shoul;d contact Tom Tom for it or HTC
the At&t Tilt has Serious Voice isses
The Talk Volume is Real LOW
Can hardly hear the other person on the Phone
& I my Cousin have the phone
Does anyone else have same Issue too ?
Can someone help me in getting the GPS to work for me? The QuickGPS is the only one that keeps downloading everyweek. I have downloaded, Google Navigator, Live Search, Google Maps and tried everywhere (i.e. no building around :)) and still the GPS is unable to intialise and says no Data Received. Appreciate your help!
Install WindowsLive you will get it here http://www.filefactory.com/file/fc465a/
Is that other guy crazy?TyTN II has 70 mb free program memory and a Qualcomm 400mhz dual CPU.Believe me the TyTN II can handle serious multitasking.
i am not able to set up my msn email..I was able to set up yahoo. WHY? any thought?
Owning a pocket pc is much like owning a pc.If you don't like the installed program then use a different one.Sunnysoft Contact lets you adjust contacts to suit your actual needs.
Yep I must say everything is so responsive.Tap Comm Manager and it opens instantly.Wi-Fi locks on within seconds too.
Unlike you I actually own the ppc. Here is some screenshots of contacts field http://www.speedyshare.com/409673285.html
@ChrisL What utter nonsense. The amount of info that can be entered to a contact is amazing! No other platform comes close. You say the TyTN II lags, more lies. The cpu handles everything you can throw at it(Skype, slingpayer,wm etc). The phone function on the unit is also very good. All experts agree on this.I seriously doubt you have even seen a TyTN II let alone used one.
Been using this phone for 2 weeks. Now have stopped using it.
This phone has serious serious serious performance issues!
These are the problems!:
Constant lagging when programs are running.
Non responsive, at least soft reset once a day.
Sucky speaker phone features(i have to scream at the phone not talk at the phone!) The contacts feature is un-user friendly. You cant enter more than one mobile number in it! sheesh! whats the use?
World card business card reader doesnt read most cards.
COMM MGR feature is extremely slow to start from the TODAY shortcut menu.
Last but not least, at normal operation, the phone cannot detect presence of SIM card. All it says is "SIM CARD IS MISSING"! Switched the Sim card to another phone and it works perfect!
Does not serve my purpose as a business phone as i have over estimated this phone. Useless!
Now going to sell it off!
Anyone wanna buy it?
Hi, have this phone for a week now...
Call partners are telling me, my voice is breacking up all the time, they can't understand met most of the time. I understand the very good all the time.
Never had this problem before and i am still with the same provider, so the provider is good... anyone have the same problem with the TyTN II ?? Bad reception with the TyNT II ??? Or other soft problem ??
