I find it strange that no-one is talking about how bad the updates have been since the m9 came out and when they forced ads into blinkfeed (now sence home) and ruined the customization of the feeds that you could have subscribed to. I have owned all of the major HTC flagships since the HERO but yet I find this offence unacceptable. It is a slap in the face to anyone who purchased a premium smartphone, I mean you dish out $700 for the phone but yet they try to make more money off of you and ruin your premium experience! How can anyone get excited about any phone that this company makes after they lost your trust? I wouldn't take the U11 for free if someone gave it to me.
Well done Htc.. I love my Htc 10 in Gold. Its the best smartphone of 2016. U11 with great design, best camera, best audio, best software, and with great killer specs... will definitely be one of favourite smartphone of 2017..You are truly back with your unique ideas again..Please keep it along as you move to Htc 12 :)
AnonD-654681, 19 May 2017Lol no headphone jack?!?!?!It had a 3.1 jack abapter in the box for normal hand phones HTC said so please check before say it hasn't
who uses head phones with a " jack " anyways .
so many head phones are blutooth. quit whining about no head phone jack
looks like a great phone which is, at last, shaking things up a bit... all the other latest 'flagship' models were pretty much the same phone, different label.
AnonD-670091, 19 May 2017No its not okay, but I never heard about this until now. It seems even Sony has it faults. Sti... moreare they getting the extra ram and storage for the same price $$$$ as what you are calling inferior spec model?
because that is what sony is doing. both versions are the same price.
and this is the 3rd time I am asking.... what brand do you buy?
Anth0ny, 19 May 2017so you think it is ok to advertise that your phone has a fingerprint scanner in the power butt... moreNo its not okay, but I never heard about this until now. It seems even Sony has it faults. Still that doesnt mean HTC should get a free pass selling phones with inferior specs to EU, while Asia getting elite version.
AnonD-72356, 19 May 2017It doesn't mean HTC will also perform better. S8 is the smartest device in the world, you can'... moreMy friend why are you embarrassing yourself?? Have you checked the review of U ultra it has a 5.7" display with secondary display too, but as a good battery enduarance. So you can just imagine how the U11 will perform with SD 835 and htc fluid UI!
AnonD-669542, 19 May 2017$1.46 on eBay for a splitter man.
https://www.ebay.com/p/?iid=282257638461&&&chn=pshead up, if you plan to buy this phone. unless you get a splitter with a built-in DAC, the audio will not work for analog speakers. the output from the port on the ULTRA/Play/11 are digital.
the HTC dongle has a DAC in it for the people that insist on using old school analog
AnonD-670091, 19 May 2017LG is one of the worst offender, true and well known.
I never heard about Sony doing thing lik... moreso you think it is ok to advertise that your phone has a fingerprint scanner in the power button on the side. and then depending on the region it is being shipped to, they disable the scanner. but you paying for it anyway because it is there but just not working? Sony Xperia XZ, look it up.
so what brand do you use??????
AnonD-669542, 19 May 2017$1.46 on eBay for a splitter man. https://www.ebay.com/p/?iid=282257638461&&&chn=psnone HTC adaptors will not work for audio because they have no DAC in them and the phone will say it is not supported. (so your suggestion will not work) the port on the HTC U/ULTA/PLAY is truly digital for audio, not analog on a USB-C port. so for 3.5 headphones (which are analog), they need the adaptor to have a DAC to do the digital - analog conversion and that is what the HTC branded adaptor has.
Anth0ny, 19 May 2017O also you can't buy LG because they leave out complete parts of hardware DAC depending on the... moreLG is one of the worst offender, true and well known.
I never heard about Sony doing thing like that, this is news to me but even then that seems to be minor enough to ignore. Certainly lot better than HTC, LG or Samsung .
AnonD-670091, 19 May 2017I dislike almost everything about Samsung, Hate amoled(burn in after a year) the short life co... moreO also you can't buy LG because they leave out complete parts of hardware DAC depending on the region they selling it.
don't buy sony because they disable hardware depending on Reagan. (the fingerprint scanner.)
so that's no HTC, SAMSUNG, APPLE, LG, SONY. so what phone do you have???? :-)
I've always had HTC phones, they are solid physically and performance wise, I'm writing this on my m8 which has taken a beating over the years but the screen has never cracked.
Obviously 3 years on and it's time for an upgrade and the u11 was a cert until I found out its missing a 3.5mm Jack. I can't live with a phone with no headphone socket, no matter how good the supplied DAC connector is, that should be built into the phone regardless. I don't wanna have to carry around a connector everywhere I go for it to break or get lost. I don't just use the 3.5mm for headphones, it's for plugging into stereos too and I can guarantee I won't have it with me when I need it the most.
If I buy this phone, that connector situation is gonna piss me off too much...
gutted they've done this :(
