Hi, I'm going to buy a new mobile, and I found that U ultra has a very good specs. for the price, but everybody here is talking about battery life, is it really that bad, does it has a battery saving mode or so? I'm new to HTC and really have a limited budget, please advice.
Iv been live-chating with one of support guys from Htc and all i got is *Oreo is on the way*. No date, no time frame, just *on the way*. Well, thats something :)

Or plans very shut down.
Or very cancelled.
Maybe that's the kind of close they mean.

Anth0ny, 28 Feb 2018To date. NO.your guess is as good as mine.
but I'm not holding my breath that it would happen, especially now that the 2016 HTC 10 already got Oreo. being skipped over like that is not a good sign.
and HTC USA live chat reps are no help with getting info on the matter.
AnonD-155624, 28 Feb 2018any Oreo Update for U Ultra?To date. NO.
AnonD-740921, 27 Feb 2018Why on earth would they not include an option in camera settings to turn off the annoying shut... moreI don't know why you not seeing it, but it is right there in the camera settings.
1. open the camera
2. tap the double dash on the left of the viewfinder to open the camera menu.
3. scroll down to the end of the menu, you will see "settings" with the gear icon. tap it.
4. uncheck the "shutter sound" checkbox. it will then say "off".
Note: if you are not seeing it there, then the phone you bought is for a region where by law you can't take off the sound.
The instructions I gave is based on the USA factory unlocked model.
Why on earth would they not include an option in camera settings to turn off the annoying shutter sound. And the sound while taking screen shot is equally horrid.
Battery life is sub par but that is expected because there's barely any space for a bigger battery in this tiny phone.
If someone could tell me how to turn off the shutter sound without rooting it..
AnonD-638272, 26 Feb 2018U Ultra has a very poor battery life, overall phone is excellent but battery drains very fast.Dude.. this is an HTC feature :D
All their phones have the worst battery possible. Surprised someone is saying this in 2018.
They have been like this since the first Desire phone, the one that had 512MB RAM.
AnonD-638272, 26 Feb 2018Anyone have an idea that when U Ultra will be getting Android Oreo 8.0 update ?A few credible sources said that 8.0 update is scheduled for the end of February.I am not convinced that we will see update any time soon. Its almost end of the month and nothing is happening.
AnonD-638272, 26 Feb 2018Anyone have an idea that when U Ultra will be getting Android Oreo 8.0 update ?I will be surprised if it ever gets it. HTC has all but given up on this phone. November-February, 4 months, no monthly Security patches.
The HTC 10 already has Oreo and that is a 2016 phone.
HTC USA even stopped selling the phone (Discontinued) last year.
