just wanted to know if the froyo update allows you to use the phone as a wifi hotspot
Browsed thruough the Facebook replies to this message (http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=14912&post=106357&uid=101063233083#post106357), reports of the 2.2 update have come from all over Europe at least - Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, UK, France, Germany, Denmark etc.
Installed myself in Latvia, no problems at least, like the useful app2sd feature.
Oh, and about the live wallpapers - HTC says they are too heavy for Wildfire to handle, but same rooted versions have supposedly have got them.. Lets wait and see Gingerbread :)

Anonymous, 22 Dec 2010im sorry to say htc cheap phones sucks big time. I was a fan of htc bt after using htc wildfir... moreWhat's your problem, you just rip off a phone without saying why, it's not going to help anyone actually thinking about buying one if u just say that "it sucks." Besides just because you're rich and reckon you have more money, go buy another phone, don't rip this phone off...for the price it has the best features available. You're an idiot for calling HTC's lower priced phones junk just because you can afford something better!
firstname.lastname@example.org, 21 Dec 2010can you tell me hoe to update to android 2.2According to HTC:
Update – HTC Wildfire (Android 2.2) Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update
Your phone will receive a notification of FOTA update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Build number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Build number). The new Build number after the update will be 2.22.405.1. Update: Android 2.2 update. Note：Please back up your data first before upgrading your phone. We recommend using a free Wi-Fi hotspot or an unlimited data plan to apply this update. If not, standard data connection charges may apply.
