My advice to everyone wil be to buy a phone you really like, don't read these comments coz it is a waste of time. After reading good comments about samsung omnia, I was the loser who went & purchased one. Thats why see the phone for your self and see if you like it. Don't let others decide for you!!!

The phone is awesome. I had doubt about the screen resolution, but at this price, none other matches it. Since I was a smartphone beginner, I dint have any prob with the resolution either.

Although right now i've given it to the service center due to water damage :(

I also hadn't tried an hTC before. Bought Wildfire; if you ask me now, "In future I won't buy anything other than hTC."
They are just perfect. hTC has done the right thing by making this a low resolution screen, because thats only way to make a low-cost-gadget of hTC standards.

hTC is not hunting in Indian Markets. No Ads. NO Showrooms. Thats why you won't find many. Go to organised dealers like Croma, Reliance Digital, Univercell, Wavetel etc. In Chennai, its available in Poorvika and Reliance Digital on order.

If you can find it, buy it. Watch Official Video on youtube and read my review. Becoz there aren't many around, you'll have that celebrity status. You know what I mean? :)

I am Narayan from CHENNAI - Saligramam. I finalised on WAVE (8500) but before I could go for it there is nothing available. All that is available is the lower end version of wave. Now I looked at the reviews of HTC Wild fire it sounds interesting, I would like to know more about the screen resolution and the battery back up. Can you pls mail me about this to krnarain@gmail.com

I'm from India. In Chennai I found a single available peice in Poorvika Mobiles,Triplicane for Rs.15,300.
Bought it a week ago. I am still smiling. Its stunning. Credit goes to Android and bit more to hTC.

I've been a Nokia user for years, tried out all Symbian Versions; except the S^3 OS. Was planning to buy C6 untill I read the complaints lodged in Nokia Website.
[Never liked Samsung because its a "Korean Mobile". PUN.]
Decided on Andriod. Budget below Rs.15k. Shortlisted Sony X8, hTC Wildfire, Samsung Galaxy 3.
Galaxy 3:Saw demo at Croma, screen was bad. Plasticy back cover. Camera is good even with 3MP. But its not getting 2.2 update. Dropped it.
Sony X8: No Autofocus(Thats very bad). Still running 1.6. Dropped it.
Wildfire: Couldn't even find the piece anywhere. hTC doesn't run any Ads in India.(Why?) Finally at Poorvika; No demo allowed.
Scoured through reviews and videos. (Watch the official video). Bought it. Poorvika gave 6-EMI plan. :)

I was most worried about screen resolution being low. It turned out to be decent. Definitely not bad. As for app-compatibility high-end 3D games won't run. Ok for 15k. (Battery of Galaxy S drains out in 5 hrs on these games). Camera is superb. Optical trackball is superb. Best thing is the Keypad.(Its correcting everything perfectly. OMG,How?) Only in HTC you get this feature. Swype on Samsungs are not that good. I tried on Galaxy 3.
I'm a engg graduate. Tech savvy. Very useful apps, widgets etc. makes this the perfect mobile for Indian Customer.
And you know what there is "Speech to Text" also in 2.2. Truly VFM

Biggest problem with HTC phones is battery life. Batter life is pathetic.
HTC is not ideal for gaming and music. Better you opt for either Nokia or Samsung.
