Rooted my phone, overclocked it to 768mhz and done a little test. Tried to open with Quickoffice (stock app on Wildfire) a word document. Overclocked to 768mhz it took 65 sek to open it exactly the same as stock 528mhz (65 sek). So there is apsolutely no difference if you overclock it or not, it will still be extreamly slow phone. Hoped there will be some performace increase after oveclock but sadly no...

By far the worst phone I have ever used. It looks quite nice but looks can be deceiving. It is sluggish and unresponsive. You'll call people accidentally, cut people off accidentally, scream with frustration as you wait for the phone to keep up with your fingers when composing text messages and emails. Want to take a quick photo? Better make sure you got plenty of time on your hands. Really, for a smart phone this is just plain embarrassing. This phone is trying to be something it is not. It is like a snazy looking sports car with a scooter engine. I have a friend that has the same phone and she said she barely uses it due to its awful interface. I work for a mobile phone company and whenever I come across a customer with this phone, I sigh deeply with the utmost pity. Please, do not under any circumstances buy this phone. The Wildfire S is much better.

Finally after 2 years of use i rooted my phone. Tried the CM7.2 but didnt like it so i reverted back to my stock 2.2.1 ROM. But with the stock ROM and kernel you cant overclock it, so I changed the kernel and it is now on 768mhz stable. I use launcherPro and the UI runs much smoother then stock htc sense does. Overclocking it helps when u are using some apps but arm v6 cpu and no gpu just limits this phone to much. Skype even with 768mhz is useless on this phone. Browser on CM7 is faster even then my Miren browser that Im using on my stock ROM.

Get the most out of your old wildfire by rooting it.Start by doing it if you have Hboot ver 001 and then install CyanogenMod 7.2 powered by gingerbread 2.3.7. Keep in mind chainfire 3d is useless on this model. better off with a 800mhz processor or higher to play the minimum old 3d games.

As far as the browser is concerned, I am using Opera Mobile, it works excellent with this phone and is is quick,so download this one and you will see the difference straight away..the original phone's browser is too sluggish
