I bought Wildfire S in July 2011, rooted it Jan 2012, it doesn't have 418MB user available. its big fat lie.. useravailable is only 150 mb out of that you will get only 90 MB free. (factory reset)
thanks to HTC they unlocked the bootloader..
hariprasad, 23 Jan 2012Hi,
What is the battery back-up? how many hrs your are phone is working? My HTC Wildfire S is old 3 mounts.
I tested Battery live: When I use phone only for calling 3-4 days live (about 25 to 35 calls per day, 1 to 1,5 hours summary).
When I use Wi-fi internet and skype, camera and... - only 1 day live.
For this kind of Smartphone with 1230 mAh capacity is not so bad battery live.

Battery charge doesn't last very long. Spec up above says 350hr standby but I don't get anything like that. I'm not a heavy user but I have to charge it up every day, sometimes more. Is that normal with Smartphones? This is my first.
It's n awsm phone ... But I Jus found Jus 1 minor issue that it takes a huge time open CALL HISTORY ...can any1 tell me the resolution ...?
Can anyone tell me that whatsall video formats are supported by HTC WILDFIRE D

Htc wildfire S after system update to 2.3.5 - cannot install or update any app from Market... If you receive a "Download unsuccessful" message when attempting to download an app, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Don’t try cleaning cache and data from Download Manager and Android Market, restart the phone ect… (this recommendation from official android market help center doesn’t works).
Lot of people solved only with uninstalling the update from Download Manager.
(Also for me help only this):
Go to settings > applications > manage apps > all, select the download manager > clear cache > clear data and after that tap "uninstall the update".
Don’t worry the Download Manager would reset to factory settings and not uninstall whole Manager - only the update.
Only bug is in the update for Download Manager not in Android Market.
its to good, compact & all features compare to Samsung galaxy ace i will give 4.8/5
can we have personalised ringtones for each contacts, that is some songs as ringtones or v gotta use d ones in d phn..i heard tat wildfire s doesnt support java..n so v cannot have our choice of downloaded ringtones..so is tat true????

First before I installed main system update 2.3.5, also via (FOTA update) I installed another 3 updates: HTC checking service, Updater and Download manager and after that the main system update 2.3.5 manualy (setting > about phone > software updates > check now)
If you are looking for a compact yet full featured Android smartphone then don't look any further than the HTC Wildfire S. It's a great compromise between features and performance, in fact there isn't too much of a trade off here anyway. Whether you are considering Android for the first time or even if you are an Android veteran simply wanting a small second phone then there is plenty to like about this phone.
There are a few things I would change perhaps, most of all I would much rather have a dedicated camera button than shooting from the touchscreen but for the money it's hard to find more faults. Perhaps more CPU horsepower would have been nice though, 528MHz to 600MHz is a pretty small increase in the grand scheme.
There is enough difference between this and last years model to make it worth existing Wildfire owners splashing out on the upgrade, the screen alone would be worth it.
Another well-designed and executed smartphone from HTC.
kirca, 17 Jan 2012(Wildfire/Wildfire S) - The same engine but new look, small display bigger battery usageThe Wildfire S is similar to last years model (old Wildfire), virtually the same size and just a little bit lighter. Main difference is in the screen being twice the number of pixels at 320x480 HVGA resolution but still remaining 3.2" in size.
• Small & Lightweight
• Good Wi-Fi and mobile reception
• Value for money
• HTC Sense
• Slow CPU can struggle with some apps.
• Camera just 'ok' for 5M
• No 720p video recording
• A great little Android handset that crams a lot in to a small package
• Best of: compact design and quality build/feel
• Worst of: CPU somewhat lacking with some tasks
