Tim, 07 Nov 2012They use the same maps (Nokia). Nokia navigation is coming to all wp phones too.
The camera ... moreI searched around the web regarding Nokia Map / Drive for HTC 8X but it seems to be found nowhere. Few rumors is out there regarding Nokia Drive for Win 8 mobiles but not on HTC 8X so far. Could you please put down links and more info if you know.
HTC 8X is superb but windows mpobile application limitation is making me sick for choosing 8X over Galaxy S-III.
i live in serbia, just saw it at my carrier. its little above 30e per 12 months on my postpaid. it looks awesome, it's same price as one s, can't decide which to get. i'm using android every day for last few years, but love winmo also. so i'm wondering about battery life, is there any problem in call, is the phone reliable - no freezing and such, and most important for me, is there big choice of third-party apps?
HTC 8X is a gr8t phone from all angle. I got blue one on Friday and looks so cool. It feels so nice as its uni-body and its back cover is so different than other mobiles. Its technical specs are out standing.
Few disappointments though: no voice guided gps software, no skype even it is owned by Microsoft, no viber so far in market for win8 mobile and its not 4G.
pls...anybody can say me d review in a few sentence... i am going to buy dis dvice...pls..give ur openion..
Forgot the mention in my post below that it also mentioned on the amazon.co.uk site that the S-LCD2 display of the 8X is superior to the AMOLED screens of the Samsung Galaxy / ATIV S phones. S-LCD2 gives a far sharper & vivid image & lacks any visible pixels on-screen, for example AMOLED display can come across as a bit fuzzy when showing text, because its whites are not white enough. This information was unknown to me until today, so thought I better share that info here. :)
Reading some other sites about the 8X & seems to be the battery life can vary quite a bit from phone to phone, was looking at a review on amazon.co.uk & one guy had even worse stand-by time than the test here, he had 50% battery loss in 17 hours, while idle. Will wait for a few more reviews before I make my choice, but I quite often put my current phone on charge while I go to bed, so is full for the following day. Having to turn the WiFi off every night on your new 8X to save the battery seems to defeat the purpose, can this be fixed by a WP8 update at a later time?
Tim, 04 Nov 2012Just got this phone yesterday after using Android for 2 years. Lovely build quality, hardware ... moreMy mom is going to buy this phone from 3g UK and she use it to speak to us via skype. Is skype still an option that she gets with the 8X?
Actually my 8X does have face detection.
This is definitely one of the worst reviews for the 8X. Its a great device!
S-LCD2 easily beats Super Amoled. Then guess How the 1080p S-LCD3 will perform, just awesome.
The HTC 8X will be launched here in Malaysia for RM1799. - http://www.techmalaysia.com/2012/11/htc-one-x-and-htc-8xs-are-priced-at-rm2099-and-rm1799-respectively/
If its price is similar to lumia 920 and ativ s, then i expect it to have a superb quality hardware, otherwise it'll have no chances.
I have had already an iPhone and a Nokia Lumia 800, just got my 8X. In one word : GREAT!
I have selected the HTC 8X instead of Nokia Lumia 920. The 920 is too wide and too heavy (50% heavier than 8X)
k, 07 Nov 2012I think for window phones Nokia Lumia are the best, and for android htc or Samsung.i was really hope in you with say that
