This phone looks great, similar look to the Nokia, 920, but much lighter than the 'very heavy' 920. Dual Core CPU is nice, much easier on the battery than the quad core, so thats a plus, Windows Phone OS is a much cleaner OS (Apple iOS aswell) than android & dual core is all you need to get the most out of the phone, thats why most new android phones have quad core, need a bit more under the hood to get android running smooth. 1gb ram is good, but only 16gb of space is a little low but usable, no MircoSD slot is a bit disappointing but not game breaking, my current phone has a 32gb microsd card in it & at most used about 25% of it in 2.5 years. Looking at getting a new phone this year & the 8x goes to the top of my list.
This is so annoying this phone looked amazing but 10mm is to fat I didn't think it would matter when I got the matrix but it annoys me how fat it is. Android I'm sticking with you for one more year by the looks of things phone wise. Tablet wise I own a nexus but want surface so much.
rdt, 22 Sep 2012What do you prefer, a quad-core that is laggy or a dual (or even single) core that doesn't lag? quad cores don't lag
I love its design, built quality, camera, display, beat audio, wp8...
777, 22 Sep 2012I will never understand this! No radio, No Java, No xpandable memroy, too thick. How hard was ... more2011 specs? You do know that it has an S4 krait processor right? That matches the pefromance of the A9 quadcore droids. This range of thickness is ok with me. It gets quite akward to hold a phone that is so thin.
All of the features people complaining are useless features. Who still listens to radio anyways? Why would you want Java? That's ridiculous.
P.F.C, 21 Sep 2012I can not believe that there is no radio. I will never understand this! No radio, No Java, No xpandable memroy, too thick. How hard was it to have this onboard? All flagships now are quad core! BTooth 3.0+! Cmon. This is like a 2011 phone in specs, mfg in 2012 on latest Win OS!
I had been always a big fan of HTC smartphones and here it is about which i had been waiting for, a windows phone 8 by HTC. I already have HTC Radar and now waiting for the release of 8X. The first phone I have seen that is capable of recording 1080p even from its front facing camera. Who needs micro SD when you have 16GB of internal memory? Only a drawback it has that it does not have a radio :-( and like all other wp phones it also does not have java and flash player. I wish if these drawbacks were removed then this becomes the best smartphone for me. Love Windows Phone!
Shame, no memory card slot
i'mma skip this phone :(
despite the look and the specs
WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD the Waze navigation program for windows phone?
All other advanced OS has this sofware
LOL LOOK AT THE PPI its 342 That's higher than ANY PHONE upto date. That's a f@%#$g brilliant display! Im so excited for this, the lumia's and the samsung one too!
Nice phone.. who use micro sd card anyways, to old school, and radio, we stream today
