Huawei capped off a big announcement event in China earlier today where we saw the debut of the brand’s new smartwatch lineup, Windows 2-in1 tablet, VR glasses and desktop PC. There was a new phone on stage too – a Collector’s Edition Mate X2. The new bit here is the leather back which comes in red, black and white colors. Huawei is also using a nano-crystalline enforced glass material on the outer screen which should be more durable. The Collector's Edition Mate X2 comes in a single 12GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration and retails for CNY 19,699 ($3,090). First sales in China are scheduled for December.
The rest of the spec sheet matched the regular Mate X2 with an 8-inch main OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a Kirin 9000 5G chipset at the helm so 5G connectivity is on board. The camera setup on the back includes a 50MP main camera alongside a 12MP telephoto lens, an 8MP periscope module and 16MP ultrawide snapper. You also get a 4,500 mAh battery with 55W charging. The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 2.
You can check out our Mate X2 full written review which we did a while back to see what impressed and how we feel about Huawei’s third foldable phone.
I'm all for e-recycling of my year old phone, so I can enjoy a phone made for time I live in - this year. Thx to some futuristic devices that get ahead of their time, I enjoy even year old ones, that's the limit though, tech progress here t...
Looks good but i would never spend even a single penny for a foldable phone because of its fragility.
I will never buy a Samsung device again. They cheated me with its tablet years ago. Today I use all Huawei products and I am happy that way. Pay one time more and keep it longer. Reduces also e-waste.
