Since they are not going to support (no further updates etc) this phone you can dump this one. Their one big push in the US market with the mate 2 is FAIL. They need to go back to China those people are used to being screwed over.

I have already received one OTA update from Huawei that corrected a mp3 playing conflict, that update also improved camera performance.
I really enjoy my HAM2, performance and battery life are outstanding. How long have you had your HAM2?
Do not buy this phone, Huawei USA has just announced it will no longer support it. No KitKat and no Lollipop updates anymore, useless phone.
I love love this phone, I had flagship models all the time and honestly the user experience is just as good, fast, reliable, huge and the best part, I finally can go up to 4 days without charging it. Remember before smartphones we use to do that, well, mate 2 brings back that capability.
Techs. Works in the US with ATT & T-Mobile with 4g LTE with both.

Davie, 13 Oct 2014I purchased the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 in September, 2014, and returned it for a refund October ... moreDave... The phone pic message work on DATA only, not WIFI. as I'm the proud owner of this phone. sorry that you returned the phone without calling customer support.
Engineer, 24 Oct 2014Is this ASCEND MATE 2 4G upgradable to coming versions of android ? or still HUAWEI sleeping i... moreOn the other hand, owners of devices slated to get frequent updates often wait the whole life of their device for the "next update" to fix their problems. My friends galaxy s3 is now on its last update - kit Kat - and guess what? Battery life is still terrible. The sweet deal with Ham2 is everything works, and works well. The hardware is already middle of the road at time of release, and contributes to one of the best features - battery life. Most people picking up this phone already don't care about top of the line hardware, and I'll take a tried and true, trouble free os that works with all apps instead of bleeding edge, buggy beta state software any day. Thank-you!
Is this ASCEND MATE 2 4G upgradable to coming versions of android ? or still HUAWEI sleeping in deep?
All the world discussing about new features in LOLLI POP and HUAWEI is still in jelly bean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please HUAWEI wake up or give up........

Had one since mid July. Count me as a Mate2 fanboy!
100% happy with only having to spend 300 dollars for a great
device. Top tier specs aren't important to me. Buy the time you get a "flagship", within a month another device is released with higher specs. The mate2 runs FAST, has an awesome battery life. I could care less if it gets an update. IT WORKS!
Using this on wind Mobile in Cambridge, Canada. I've tried many phones on their network: Galaxy S3, Blackberry Z10, Q10, and Moto G. Each had disappointing reception and battery life as a result. Very pleased with this phone as I rarely see it drop below three bars, two bars and usable data connection in my concrete bunker of a workplace restroom where every other phone I tried had zero bars and functionality (even roaming was down to one bar).
Excellent signal aside, I'm really liking the size and build quality of this device. Years back when I was due an upgrade I laughed at the sales rep who suggested the Note 1. Yet since then I've come to realize that most phones are just too small for the ways I'd like to use them. Sure there are compromises you have to make with a device this size, but in my case they are outweighed by the benefits.
