Huawei Android Rumors

The MWC is approaching and the rumor mill is starting to see more and more from Huawei. The company will most likely be bringing the Ascend P7 (codenamed Sophia), the successor the super thin P6, to the show.

Internal docs showing the phone's specs leaked out late last year and we even saw a mockup recently. This time we get to see actual photos, though they only show the back panel. The design of the back seems largely unchanged, but the material appears slightly different.

The 4G logo on the back suggests LTE support, which the original P6 does not have, not even the updated Ascend P6S. According to the leaked specs, the Huawei Ascend P7 will have a 5" 1080p screen, HiSilicon 910 chipset, 13MP main camera and 8MP front-facing camera. The battery capacity is 2,460mAh.

Huawei is also working on the MediaPad X1 tablet – 7" tablet that's smaller and lighter than the new Nexus 7. It was recently certified by Tenaa in China but now we get a bit more details along with a photo in the wild.

The Huawei MediaPad X1 features 3G and LTE connectivity and as it turns out, it will do voice calls. It has a 7" 1,920 x 1,200 pixel screen (same as the Nexus) and is powered by the same HiSilicon chip as the Ascend P7. Surprisingly, the new source claims a 13MP camera, which is quite a lot for a tablet.

The MediaPad X1 will reportedly be priced around CNY 1,200, which is roughly $200. For reference, the LTE-enabled Nexus 7 (2013) is $350.
