Huawei filed a patent for bezel-less smartphone design

Huawei Android Rumors

A patent filed by Huawei back in February just surfaced describing a semi-modular design that allows for even thinner bezels while still maintaining essential features like water and dust resistance and anti-static properties.

Huawei's take on the matter is rather interesting and aims to solve the issues that arise when designing a bezel-less phone. Four metal frames surround the display panel that lies on top of the main housing and stick to the sides with glue. The result is exceptionally thin bezels and since the display lies in the recessed area of the main housing, there is little to no pressure produced by the side frames.

The company claims that this design doesn't interfere with the anti-dust and water properties of the chassis due to high-quality build and strong adhesive.

We wonder how this type of semi-modular design would work in real-life. Is Huawei really onto something here or are they just experimenting? Either way, since the side frames are separate from the main chassis, they become a weak point and make the device more vulnerable to breaking. If so, is it really worth trimming even further the already existing ultra-thin bezels like the ones on the vivo NEX, for example?

Thats noot possible there must been something which will hold front and back of the screen. Unless they make an egg. Or for the pottom of the screen so all the phone will be like one glass which will be totaly ugly.
