AnonD-665331, 29 Apr 2017Huawei honor 8 or samsung A7 or S7 ? please help if you compare A7 2017 to honor 8, HONOR 8 wins their price is almost same yet the processor, GPU, Ram of Honor 8 is more Advantage, the only advantage of A7 2017 is he use higher screen than honor 8, Honor 8 is CG3 while A7 2017 is CG4, and A7 2017 has water resistance. but if you let me pick Honor8 wins vs A7 2017, i pick the speed over the build,
if you compare Honor 8 vs samsung S7, well it is obvious Samsung s7 all specs wins expect to Smart thumb sensor of Honor 8 which you can use it as a Button or swipe effect while browsing in gallery or other that requires swipe but over all i pick Samsung s7 if i have a budget. samsung s7 is more expensive than Honor 8.
Fireluna, 28 Apr 2017First of all, thank you very much for answering my queries. I need to ask you one more thing,... morethere is just search it in playstore CPU Thermal, CPU-Z can also check them but its better to buy device that can detect the heat, its more accurate, i guess. and also for additional in heat problem, Please make sure your running background app is Off, it will cause the processor more active if there is more app running on background, and its better to use 3rd party Launcher than the built in launcher that is more simple, mine i Use Smart Launcher, Simple no Widget, Widget is an running background apps. go try that launcher you will enjoy it, simple yet can customize easily.

I need to ask you one more thing, is there any app which can measure CPU temperature ?
And up to how much the temperature of the CPU can rise ? Which is considered not an issue !
And yes, you are right , the metal frame is getting heat up but not the screen. But it's getting heat up even in 2 min of camera use.
Thanks in advance.
Fire Luna., 27 Apr 2017I'm saying that ...it's even getting heat up while using camera to take pictures ! Does it pre... morethe heat is normal to me in 30mins video record with setting of 1080p 60fps, small heat in upper side, where the processor is located but on the metal side only. in the screen i didnt feel the Heat. . . if you feel the Heat on the metal and not on the Screen Be happy it means honor 8 use metal till on the inside that connected in your metal sides.
Just ignore the Heat all phone without liquid cooling just that a same problem but other phone is worst it almost like flatiron
Hii ,, I have forgotten Huawei honor 8's AppLock password , PLZZ tell me solution
ShadowJaiz, 27 Apr 2017hmmmm i already test mine for 10minutes vidio record. its just a normal heat compare to other ... moreI'm saying that ...it's even getting heat up while using camera to take pictures ! Does it prevails in honor 8 ?
hmmmm i already test mine for 10minutes vidio record. its just a normal heat compare to other Metal phone that heating too much. well if you try to compare honor 8 to other higher end phone like samsung s8 or s7. think twice. those phone have Liquid cooling inside of them that makes them more expensive. try compare the phone that is same price of honor 8. i have Asus zenfone 3 it it Heat like Crazy when playing heavy games of HD video record unlike my honor 8, its normal heat,
the heating cause is processor, because the processor is working with high resolution. Honor 8 dont have liquid cooler inside, because if they add it, the price of honor 8 will cost more but they dont add it because it use ArmBig-Little architecture to make the heat Low
This phone in India is available only in single sim version. What is a good equivalent of this phone (camera quality and battery life matter the most) having dual sim support ?
Hey, I'm using Honor 8, and it's indeed a great camera phone.
But the only issue I'm facing is that, it's getting heat up (only the metal frame) while using camera to take pictures.
Does anyone is experiencing the same ?
Is it an issue or honor 8 does gets heat up while using camera to take pictures or video ?

Rex Tech, 23 Apr 2017I have noticed Honor 8 and p10 lite use LTPS screens.I have searched it online and on wikipedi... moreyour search is incomplete. i have other phone still good for almost 2 years with crisp display. The heating problem is not on the screen. so for lifespan it depends on your device. the only problem in LTPS why it is cheap is the brightness. their brightness is limit but in exchange their display is more accurate.
I have noticed Honor 8 and p10 lite use LTPS screens.I have searched it online and on wikipedia and it said this:
"Amorphous silicon TFTs have been widely used in liquid-crystal display (LCD) flat panels because they can be assembled into complex high-current driver circuits. Amorphous Si-TFT electrodes drive the alignment of crystals in LCDs. The evolution to LTPS-TFTs can have many benefits such as higher device resolution, lower synthesis temperature, and reduced price of essential substrates. However, LTPS-TFTs also have several drawbacks. For example, the area of TFTs in traditional a-Si devices is large, resulting in a small aperture ratio (the amount of area which is not blocked by the opaque TFT and thus admits light). The incompatibility of different aperture ratios prevents LTPS-based complex circuits and drivers from being integrated into a-Si material.Additionally, the quality of LTPS decreases over time due to an increase in temperature upon turning on the transistor, which degrades the film by breaking the Si-H bonds in the material. This would cause the device to suffer from drain breakdown and current leakage, most notably in small and thin transistors, which dissipate heat poorly"
So according to the text additionally, the quality of LTPS decreases over time due to an increase in temperature upon turning on the transistor, which degrades the film by breaking the Si-H bonds in the material. This sounds quite terrible for this device.
Due to the glass build and quick charge, this device was heating up quickly during charging and heavier gaming and multitasking.Does it mean the screen will lose it's quality or ?
I mean,it seems Huawei uses IPS LCD with LTPS on most of it's expensier devices like P9,P10 and Nova plus but LTPS on it's cheaper phones like Honor 8 and p10 lite.
My questions are:
1.If the LTPS thing is true, will this device won't handle 3 years of usage ?
2.Will the device lose quality of it's screen on a bigger factor ?
3.Should i save a bit more money and spend it on P9 since it doesn't have an LTPS screen ?
AnonD-659154, 19 Apr 2017Hey, I need your help. I came from LG G4 but now it's dead because of the bootloop problem, I ... moreRegarding to your story i see so you are still newbie in device. There is BIG Difference between honor 6x and honor 8,
1st is the chipset or processor used, in honor 6x they use Kirin 655 that is using the lpddr3 but in honor 8 they use kirin 950 that use lpddr4 (CHECK the different KIRIN here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HiSilicon)
2nd the GPU T830 on honor 6x and T880 on Honor 8, for additional the mp2,mp3 or mp4 is more like a Core. mp2 means 2 core GPU (CHECK the different MALI GPU here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mali_(GPU))
3rd Camera, honor 8 have laser focus that honor 6x dont have it,. it use for more fast focus.
try to compare it to your self
