Hey, It all came down for 3 phones for me, after I sold my outdated but lovable Moto X Play. The Honor-8, Axon-7 and the Asus Zenfone-3. I did not want a big phone and I wanted something that looks good and performs well in this Apple infested area. Finally the price decided for me, at $280- US I got a beautiful Blue, Honor-8. This is my second day with it and so far I like what I experience with it. It shipped with a Type-C charging cable and both ends are Type-C, so I need to get an adapter of some sort in order to connect to my PC. Huawei knows what sells and this is one helluva looker, none the less it's fast. My biggest annoyance is how slippery this phone is. You have to be super careful if you don't have a case for it. I already ordered a transparent silicone case from Amazon. Hope to use it for at least a year. After initial startup, it downloaded and installed the new EmUI, so that's what I use it with for now, Calls are very clear and Data is connecting with 4G speeds on the Freedom Mobile network. The fingerprint scanner is amazing, Display looks Amoled, I have about 21Gb of space left internally, but also have a micro SD, just in case. Highly recommend it. It beats my brother's Iphone.

Any reason why Huawei phones have the '24 gb of memory available and 21-19 gb free" thing on them ? I noticed it on the Honor 8,p9/plus :/
AnonD-632353, 14 Jan 2017I am very happy with this phone. Initially I had a lot of reservations about the EMUI interfac... moreYes it is .Every thing needs to practice emui is good ...I m a kind of addicted to it that's why just stuck with Huawei ,i m a kind of afraid to use other brands phones ...Lol
I have been using it for a few days now. The battery life is good for my light usage, it can last me two days. There is low standby drain even when two SIMs are connected. The UI could be better (should get an android like launcher with 5.0), that said it is costumizable and offers some really nifty features such as scheduling power on/power off, control over which apps run in background, small screen for one handed use... And while the UI might seem heavy, I didn't encounter glitches/bugs and the phone is really snappy.
The speaker is fine, cannot get very loud but stays clear. The camera is performs well to very well in non-low light conditions, but in-doors and in low light it is just passable. Definitely not flagship material due to the low light performance.
It looks to be a good phone for the price. I do think (even as an owner of the Honor 8) that OnePlus 3T (and to some degree Axon 7) offer more, but I was unwilling to risk poor service and poor reception. In addition, Honor 8 was 70 Euros cheaper in my country.
I am very happy with this phone. Initially I had a lot of reservations about the EMUI interface, having transition from a Droid phone with its minimal Android flavor. I was half expecting a horrible IOS clone with the obligatory hidden, convoluted gestures and sequences that make it practically unusable. The actual EMUI however is a completely usable and intuitive Android OS, just prettier... It features a standard task switcher, and is intuitive enough to just pick up and use without any Google'ing or cursing. This is the best of both worlds: Apple-quality hardware running practical and intuitive software.
