Higher frequencies allow faster transmission of data, also known as bandwidth.
I bought this phone because it was advertised to be capable of 5GHz for faster data but I found out it doesn't that is my concern and it should be a concern of every potential buyer of this gadget

maguvu, 15 Oct 2018Do you even know how to differentiate 2.4ghz from 5ghz ?The primary difference between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies is range as the 2.4GHz frequency is able to reach farther than the 5GHz frequency. This is a result of the basic characteristics that waves attenuate much faster at higher frequencies. So if you are more concerned with the coverage, you should select 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz.

The 2.4GHz frequency is way more crowded than 5GHz, devices on 2.4GHz suffer much more interference than the ones on 5GHz.
Fewer devices are capable of using the 5GHz channel than the 2.4GHz channel.
Can someone enlighten me on this...the 8X sports not only one but 2 cameras but doesn't support 2160p vid recording while the Play can? Also in another comparison, my Note 4 can record 2160p vids and this one can't?
