So I've narrowed my choices for my next phone between the LG V30+ and the Mate 10 Pro. Obviously, with the 4,000 mAh battery, I'm assuming battery life and standby time on the Mate 10 Pro is a non-issue, as is the screen legibility in direct sunlight. My other two concerns are the sound through the dongle with a pair of quality, high impedance earbuds ( I'm considering the V30+ for the quad DAC) and the software.
I've seen a lot of people say EMUI is bad due to its supposed "redundancy". My father has a Mate 9, so I have very little experience with EMUI, other than setting the phone up for him. Visually, it's an obvious copy of iOS, which I actually don't mind. In fact, I prefer the EMUI/ iOS folder icons, that allow you to view nine apps per folder. To me, it's a much cleaner look. But aside from that, what are the things you like and dislike about EMUI? Are your dislikes just little annoyances or deal breakers? How do you get around it?
I'm coming from a Nexus 6P, so I tried but I'm quite bored with stock, so I'm looking for a more feature-packed replacement again. I'd put the S9+ on my list of options, but Samsung's battery life apparently continues to suck, so that's a no go. What are your opinions? Should I go for the Mate 10 Pro, or the LG V30+? Feedback is appreciated.
LilSweetLin, 11 Mar 2018Can someone please give their honest opinion about the audio quality on the Mate 10 Pro throug... moreMy personal opinion and recommendation for Mate 10 Pro for the following reasons:
1. Awesome Camera 1.6 ap with bokeh effect, Burr photo simply DSL killer mobile.
2. Big 4000 Mah battery this will last long full day with heavy Usage.
3. Ir Blaster remote control for any appliance in home use..
4. Clear Stereo Sound
5. Three Battery saver Modes (Low Resolution Power saving, Ultra power saver, and normal battery saver ).
AnonD-744194, 12 Mar 2018 What is Android Auto.. ?? Can you explain..Android Auto is the system android has developed for car use. It allows you to use google maps, waze, google music, spotify etc in your car. The problem is that most android phones do work very well with Android Auto, but Huiawei phones don't. This is a major issue for most users.

AnonD-684860, 11 Mar 2018dude...i had sony xperia xz , z1 , z3 they all have major problems with heating and camera Ditto. The glass back on my z3 broke because I was filming in 4k and had to put it in a glass of water to cool it, it was that hot
I bought this phone to use it with Android Auto, but to my surprise Huawei is not compatible with Android Auto. I feel like I wasted my money. After realizing this problem first hand, I searched in the internet and learned that this is a massive problem.
LilSweetLin, 11 Mar 2018Can someone please give their honest opinion about the audio quality on the Mate 10 Pro throug... moreI love it. Everyone says bad things about it, I like it more than TouchWiz Samsung. Speaking of which Samsung phones never last me a full day. I have to work and Samsung phones last me about her day. Huawei lasts me a day and a half. Not to mention Huawei phones don't slow down in 2 months after buying it new.
Do you think in the future Huawei will add a face unlock feature for this phone ?
Praveen, 21 Feb 2018One of the blunder I did ever was purchasing mate 10 pro.. All the hype and specs are just goo... moredont buy from anywhere but europe buddy . i once bought a samsung j7 pro for my wife from there and it broke after a 2 weeks . while i owned the same phone which i bought from netherlands for 6 months and i never had any problems with it . your phone is probably a really well made fake of the original phone
LilSweetLin, 11 Mar 2018Can someone please give their honest opinion about the audio quality on the Mate 10 Pro throug... more despite that the phone doesnt have a 3.5mm headphone jack it has an adapter from type-c to 3.5 mm audio jack which is very helpful . i happen to break the original earbuds that come with it and i use some cheap earbuds with it now and the sound is just fantastic i plugged these same earpohones in other phones and they sounded terrible . the audio optimization is just top notch 10/10 recommended i love every feature in this phone

AnonD-684860, 06 Mar 2018before mate 10 pro i had xperia xz ..pls don`t tell me about sony speed and how fast they are.... moreNot true, those were only two xperias with heating snapdragon 810,but with sd 810 all androids had the same issues, not with my 5 years old z1 and 3 years old z3.Mate 10 is excellent, more fluid than Samsung, but still not fluid like Sony or Gtc or Pixel, specially in long terms of usage.
Can someone please give their honest opinion about the audio quality on the Mate 10 Pro through the dongle with a good pair of headphones? I'm not expecting it to be as good as the LG V30 or an HTC with BoomSound, but hopefully it's close?
Also, how is the battery life and standby time? I consider myself a light user. I don't play any games, and I don't take too many photos, other than point-and-shoot. All I do is talk, text, watch YouTube videos, stream my music on Google Play Music, and forums. I want a phone that has great standby time, and can make my music sound good, like with BoomSound.
But I can't buy HTC because the LCD screens use a lot of power, and are not visible in direct sunlight. The way I see it, I'm either gonna get the Mate 10 Pro, LG V30, or Note 9 to upgrade from my Nexus 6P.
Also, I see people saying that EMUI is annoying to use. Is that true?
I just want a phone with great battery life, a screen that I can see outdoors, and has great headphone audio. Any opinions? Thanks!
