Huawei Android Firmware Updates

Huawei's Mate 20 Pro is now in the process of receiving another software update, following the one it got at the beginning of last month.

This one comes over-the-air as a 523MB download, and once you install it you'll be on EMUI version 9.0.0.142 and will have the November 2018 security patch level.

The update improves camera performance and photo quality, optimizes Face Unlock performance as well as the in-screen fingerprint reader for faster unlocking, and it also comes with better positioning in Google Maps due to "optimized navigation performance". Finally, there's also a bug fix involving not showing a notification badge for Google Messages.

As usual, expect this one to be a phased rollout, so don't worry if your Mate 20 Pro hasn't popped up the update notification yet - that should happen within the next few days.
