Huawei failed to keep this device updated for 2 years. When Oreo was launched, the mate 8 wasn't 2 years old. Yet I think only the chinese version got an oreo update. Mine certainly didn't.
Will vote with my wallet and won't buy another huawei.

I had this phone for 2+ years now. Was good back then, still very good now. No issues, no complains. Still a good performer in today's standard. Recently i've added a Class 10 A1 128mb microsd into it to have more space. Although it is still on Android 7 EMUI 5.0.1, its ok.
Download Huawei Themes app and go crazy with it. Still looks good.

I bought my Mate 8 from China and I already have Android 8.0.0 and EMUI 8.0 about 3 month. It's a great company that think about its customers. For instance Sony Z5 Premium that announced in the same time have only Android 7. Sony is a big disappointment for the last 3 years, minimum.

NOw it is announced already 6 months ago but still there is no oreo rom available :-( :-(
