im sorry to say noooooooo not at all mate 8 is too much better in all aspects than note 5 i used both of them and huawei is better in call quality and signal battery life and also usage however note 5 rear camera is better than huawei

Guys mate8 is awesome phone for people who is suffering from on notification go to settings and make ur apps enabled for that then and the most important choose magazine wallpaper for ur lockscreen it will enable it for sure
Camera is very good sharp and has very good details and front camera is not bad either as many complains only in low light conditions
For gaming it is brilliant
Battery life is more than great
People who is using watch dnt purchase because it is not syncing with the phone
People who is using smart watches u may suffer from sometimes disconnection
Loudspeaker is not bad but not good either however ringing tone and notifications is very loud and clear even in noisy environmental
Screen is and readable with all conditions

very nice mobile
back cam is perfect ( use flash ) i use it for selfie picture using fingerprint to take picture
front cam not good enough :'(
performance very quickly ( best mobile ever seen )
screen color good enough
i cant compare it with NOTE 5 for many reason ( price - SD card Slot - screen - cam )
samsung screen does not give you real view ( super AMOLED screen )

Anyone can put an HONEST input about the battery life on this phone? I'm not interested in a video playback for X hours or standby modes. I need to know a full day with 3G/4G, mails, browsing, facebook and calls/sms.. All we see is labrat data...

Every one using this device should try this ....You can speed up the animations in the secret developer options to showcase the full power of this phone.
Go to Settings > About phone
Tap on Build number repeatedly until the notification says you are a developer
Go back one screen, select Developer options
Scroll down to the Drawing section
Adjust Windows animation, Transition animation, and Animator duration to .5x

The problem is that there is no adhaan at prayer time. I try modify notification settings but no success. Plz check your app setting & guide me. Thanks.

AnonD-503700, 21 Feb 2016Are you using any adhaan apps on mate 8? I tried several but not activating at adhaan time.Check the protected apps setting. Make sure your prayer time app runs as Protected App so it won't get automatically closed when screen is off.
go to Settings -> Protected apps

Plz tell whether any adjustments needed in setting.Try different calculation method, if you tried all of them and still not getting the correct prayer times, just choose the closest one and make one-time manual adjustment, after that it should be fine.
