For 1 year it was ok. The battery is draining so fast as if its 60% now. When I amke a call for 20sec it will drop to 40%

Its a good phone and faster, but the battery is a problem i don't know why the battery have a this defect,i use and turn off when the battery is 99% all of sudden the battery is in 0% in 5 minutes!!

That's what I used to update mine after I was not receiving any more updates. Its called firmware finder by team MT. Download it at playstore

I love huawei mate 8 and am glad I chose it. Those who wants to get the full update and solve battery issues with the emui 5.0.1 on all models, please huawei firmware finder from playstore and it will give you the most recent update available for your model or region and also gives you tutorials on how to update it via ota. Mine was stuck with emui 5.0 with bags and after I used it to update it, the problem had been solved. Good luck

Usually every huawei phones have complaint on its battery like battery draining fast or battery charge slot is not proper. Is there any phone without thus problems in huawei help

Mate 8 is much better than Mate 9 in terms of performance and primary camera. yesterday I received an update of EMUI Version 5.0.1 and it has fixed a lot of bugs, battery performance has improved, phone operating speed is just the best after the update. Mate 8 L09 is the gadget to purchase.
