I never like amoled screen. It will have burn-in effects after a year usage..
Everybody is calling it Mate 7 successor .
But I think is actually Lite version of Mate 8 which is the successor of Mate 7 .
Due to production issue of TSMC , Huawei fail to get the Kirin 950 Soc .
So, to fill the gap they launched Mate S which has a less powerful processor , smaller in size then traditional , still a end build to keep it high end like the Mate 7 and a Top shelf product in the places of Mate 8 which they couldn't bring in time.
You can call it a high end Lite version rather then a traditional budget Lite version .
Overall it's a device by spec . Any typical person will enjoy it .
I really in love with the design of mate S but the battery is 2700!! For phone 5.5 inch I don't like it and the display why Huawei switch from IPS LCD to AMOLED!!!!! I really like the mate 7
Wooo glad Huawei put force touch on their phone before the iphone 6S comes!
Guys the phone actually doesn't have thick black borders around the screen ..
check here screen is 2.5D
vampyren, 03 Sep 2015I want removable battery! LG G4 is the only option for me.what you will be doing with it removing battery every day ? :DDD

There is no logical reason why Huawei is switching to AMOLED now.
I used Huawei Mate 7 (perfect IPS LCD) and the battery is great.
Even if LCD display eats more battery than AMOLED , the difference
is minimal and not worth switching to. Even Samsung Note 4 (which supposedly brighter than Note 3) not as bright as Huawei Mate 7. Moreover every AMOLED is over saturated and not as natural as a high quality IPS LCD display.
Sam Cheong, 03 Sep 2015This is definitely a downgrade version of Mate 7!There is a Mate 8 for god sake. This is a different category.
The phone isn't called Mate 7S or Mate 8, and instead Mate S for a good reason. So stop the "downgrade" comparison with mate 7.
Anonymous , 02 Sep 2015You are absolutely right! 1) reducing display size from 6.0 to 5.5? 2) switching from a nat... moreReduce screen size give better resolution to the display and increses it ppi value. LCD display is not a good display for smartphone. There is one main problem with LCD which is it used up too much battery. Sony also aware of this problem as an article mention " the displays being LCD, they need to be lit up entirely whereas AMOLEDs could save some mAhs when kept in such a case". The article(from GSMarena) discussed the usage of a smart view casing for the smartphone-Z5 Premium. You can see that having AMOLEDs display give you more advantage in battery saving which also leads to the explanation of the reduce battery size too.
Just missed my expectation; only 2700 mah battery, not acceptable.
I fucking love the design 10/10 currently i am using Iphone 5s thinking for an upgrade i think this time i am gonna move with this phone .the only thing I hate in this phone Is Fingerprint location it should be in front .
Most of the features are the same compared to P8 and P8 lite, but the switch to Super Amoled is even worse. Huawei is disappoints me this time.
