This phone is a 4G volte, but because it's a Huawei the networks are taking the volte option away from the phone. Your phone is volte, always was and it was working but you just didn't see it up there on the top of your screen. The network providers turned it off for your phone in their system. It's dodgy as hell. They're forcing you to go out and get a new phone. You can go out a buy a phone with the exact same specs as this Huawei and it will work because it's not Huawei. Huawei is a Chinese owned company so the Australian government doesn't like them. Stupid thing is so is Oppo and they still all work. They say they are stopping your phone from working because you can't make 000 calls which is BS. it's because they've switched your volte off. All they are doing is leaving you without a phone so you can't make a call to anyone let alone 000, and how long are you going to be without a phone for? Better to have a phone that can't make 000 calls then none at all, at least you call and alert someone else to make the 000 call for you. But as I pointed out, 000 calls aren't the real reason. The network providers and the Australian government are in the wrong with what they are doing with this phone.
This comment probably breaks all the posting rules, but it is true.
Peter, 08 Oct 2024Why? This phone support 4G, why the network provider shut down 3G network will impact this phone. My current service provider vodaphone told me that this device is 4G but it is using 3G network for 000 calls. So they have to block as all providers are required to make sure that all devices can make 000 calls. However I was also told that it may work with some other providers.
