& I'd say tempered glass adds maybe 20% extra drop protection max.
It might help save your screen, but it's far more important for the display to consist of Strenghtened glass like gorilla glass (and the exterior/interior design is important too probably)
For example "waterfall or edge" displays are also more prone to breakage.
I wish Huawei well because i'm a fan of their phones.
I was looking to replace my aging Honor 10 with the NOVA5T,
but then realized the NOVA 5T makes bad pictures in lowlight
& has no strenghtened glass.

Strengthened glass like gorilla glass prevents these things from happening usually, and the Nova 5T seems to have very weak glass.

same phone can have different price depending on the country and gsmA price isn't reliable but i suggests you to check if mi 9t pro, mi 9, realme x2 pro, and vivo iqoo neo 855 is available on your budget
samsung A71 looks good if you don't really need performance and iPhone SE 2020 might worth a look as well

It's a great phone with big memory space and powerful processor. Have u seen P40 lite? It's also mid range phone with excellent specs.

Hey guys, can anyone advise me on what phone to go for and what criteria to judge them buy? I'm generally focused on low budget by a strong phone. I'm considering between a Huawei P30 Lite (as it fits my budget) and the Huawei Nova 5T (as I see that in terms of RAM it's better than the P30)? If you guys have alternate phone choices aside from the Huawei line but around the same budget, I'm curious to hear them. Thanks y'all!!

Maybe you should buy neither and certainly not an amoled... Worst phones for flickering.

Rather mediocre phone. The display often has screen retention or burn ins VERY often. Dissatisfied.

I will probably play a couple of games on it but nothing hardcore. I also love the disllay and one UI. And i can get it for around 350 dollars. Thanks for the advice tho.

smaller phone make it easier to use especially if you are upgrading from old phone (which tend to be even smaller), glass back with smaller camera module is simply prettier, and i really love the side fingerprint scanner

yeah, most of the problem disappeared when i'm turning on the performance mode but lagging on small indie games really doesn't live up to it's 260k antutu score and i don't want to turn on the performance mode all day since the battery barely enough for me to last a day (aside from its getting warm faster)
