EMUI is the skins of Huawei since ages, and the numbering version is indicator of the different android version.
EMUI 7 - Nougat
EMUI 8 - Oreo
EMUI 9 - Pie
EMUI 10 - Q!

That's why Huawei says "will be able to ACCESS Android Q" instead of "UPDATE to Android Q". https://www.androidcentral.com/emui-10-preview
