They can always use the old architecture from arm but theywon't have access to the newer ones that will be released after the ban. They can use cortex a76, a55 and mali g76. So they can always use these architectures .And i don't think that arm will produce smth new in the next 1 or 2 years. So huawei has some time before becoming outdated.

Huawei has the money to attract designers and engineers from all the companies that have stopped working with them. If this trade war continues to escalate, China will just copy designs from all its competitors and just continue selling their devices to the Asian market. No point of arguing about copyright law when they won’t be able to sell to a western market anyway. The Chinese have only ever been concerned about copyright when they trade with westerners. They will indeed lose money but certainly won’t go bust.

Oh there is also the small battery life and samsung's software updates that made to slow down their phones
