Huawei Samsung Mobile hardware Android Rumors

The rumor mill never sleeps as the first set of rumors for the Huawei P30-series are starting to surface. First, there was the rumor about the P30 Pro sporting a still unannounced Sony IMX607 sensor and today we have a fairly specific one given how much time is left until the release. According to industry sources, Huawei's P30 Pro will have a notch and a curved OLED panel.

That's quite strange given the fact that Huawei is about to release two phones with a punch hole in the display for the front-facing camera - the Honor View 20 and the Huawei Nova 4. But it's more complicated than that.

It appears that Samsung is currently the only OLED maker that produces such panels, or in other words - Infinity-O displays. So Huawei is once again stuck with BOE and LG to be the suppliers for its OLEDs, which in turn means that the front design will be almost identical to that of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro - wide notch and curved glass panel. A waterdrop-styled notch is a possibility too, though.

Huawei P30 Pro uses curved screen (BOE or LG), but OLED's Hole in Display is currently only available in Samsung display. So P30P is definitely a drop or Notch

However, it's too early to tell if this is in fact the case. In two or three months time, a lot could change and Samsung might be able to supply Huawei with its Infinity-O screens after all. Yet, the information comes from a reputable source so there's that.

Huawei is selling NM cards to increase profit, that's the sole purpose of proprietary accessories for any electronic devices. You're using the word "planned obsolescence" wrong here.

Totally igree. That's why I don't mind the design if the Mate 10 Pro. But I really hoped that 2019. would be the year where we say RIP to the notches of any shapes and sizes.
