Huawei P40 Pro camera to have updated RYYB sensor, better zoom

Huawei Android

Huawei will introduce the P40 lineup in two weeks, but the company is now letting some people get a blind hands-on experience with the phones. People got to touch the phone within a closed box, and some reported the major improvements Huawei will bring with the P40 smartphones.

According to one source, the new series will “guarantee new records” in mobile photography with a custom RYYB sensor, better and most likely a longer zoom, and “new material” options, meaning the Vegan Leather versions are hitting the P family.

Regarding a question about the RYYB sensor, one Huawei executive said the company “invested a lot in this tech and wouldn’t want it to go to waste”. We can pretty much take this as confirmation before the official confirmation. The manufacturer says it drew inspiration from the Eagle Eye that can spot prey from 3 km distance and that is why the zoom should bring better resolution and clarity.

Huawei P smartphones get a refreshed color palette several months after the initial launch, but it looks like this time the Vegan Leather Orange and Vegan Leather Green colors, known from the Mate30 family will be available at launch.

P40's camera is amazing. Auto focus is always on point and Leica lens are very sharp, even in the corners. You can zoom remarkably close too. Image stabilization works better than on Samsung Note S 20.

this will be better than samsung's 108mp camera in s20 ultra and mi note 10 pro, which has problems in soft edges, bad focus, slow processing, etc. i don't see the need to cramp a lot of tiny pixels. 50mp will be ok if the sensor size is big enough...

I dont care of lack of google play and google services. Huawei mobile services and App Store are comming sooner or later. I can wait. And have best tech meanwhile while waiting the software update!
