It's shaping up to be an interesting early 2020 in the mobile world, with the Huawei P40 Pro battling it out with the Samsung Galaxy S11 series. Their looks are apparently going to be incredibly similar, at least on the back. Recently we heard that the S11 will have 5x optical zoom from a periscope telephoto camera, and now famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who usually covers Apple, has shed some light on what we can expect from the P40 Pro.
And that is 10x optical zoom. This is apparently achieved by using both a prism and two mirrors in the camera, compared to just a prism for the P30 Pro's 5x zoom lens. This, paired with an extended field of view, will eventually result in 10x zoom shots on the P40 Pro, at 8 MP resolution. The aperture of the unit will be f/4.0, reportedly.
On the other hand, the non-Pro P40 will also sport a periscope telephoto lens, only in this case it will enable "just" 5x optical zoom. While that's on par with what's rumored for the Galaxy S11, Samsung's devices will allegedly outdo Huawei when it comes to the resolution of the zoomed shots.
Ok my friend. I guess me being a former Huawei employee over the years was a waste of time because I learnt nothing...right?
Give video the same chance you gave photography. Better night video. Better resolution and dynamic range. Etc
I am only missing stereo speakers from my beloved p30 pro, so please put in stereo speakers into the p40 pro (I don't mind if it's an extra top firing speaker) and keep all the goodies from the p30 pro. You can improve of course, but do not take aw...
