Brian, 10 Mar 2016mine is the one where the dual sim one supports Micro-SIM in slot 1, in slot 2 you can insert ... moreit is either defective or injected with a single sim firmware i suspect the latter to be sure you need to check the build number of the device, anyway in both cases you should return it instead of going into the hassle of flash it with a dual-sim firmware.

Zeb, 10 Mar 2016Dear friends kindly suggest Samsung A5 / P8 Lite Which 1 is better Hello, mate,
Out of those two A5 is a much better option. It has better camera, built quality (metal instead of cheap plastic). A5 screen is also miles and miles ahead of P8lite's (the difference is enormous trust me, while A5 has one of the nicest looking screens, P8lite's screen is below average because it is really dim). Do not get fooled by reviews that state P8lite as a very good performer in cpu and gpu tests, A5 is really not that far behind (truth to be told they are both nothing special at all when it comes to processing power or gaming).
Samsung A5 is really miles and miles ahead as a more solid choice than P8lite, although P8 lite is not a bad phone, but since A5 price has gone down really just grab it. If you need one final reason to buy Samsung A5 instead of Huawei P8lite just look at dat UI of huawei phones.
Also please note that I am in no way a Samsung phone ( I would also recommend for example, Sony M4 aqua ), but seriously between those two phones the answer could not be more obvious.

I bought the phone knowing it's dual SIM, but now m trying to use a nano SIM card and the phone can't even detect the SIM, and now I just discovered that the phone has to have 2 EMUI/IMEI numbers to support dual SIM, I don't get why such things aren't just simplified in the specification of the model of that particular phone?

Why say the phone is a dual sim..
Then the manual clearly says The upper card slot may not support nano-SIM cards. If it does
not, you can insert only a microSD card into it.
I have put both sim cards but one is NOT functioning the upper card slot.
i bought the phone knowing its a dual sim.....what a disappointment Huawei P8 Lite

(EUROPEAN VERSION L21 MARSHMALLOW ONLY)Hey, so, i have mostly read all the comments here, a few times poped up the Marshmallow update etc. I did it for my phone, dint take it from xda site bc i dont like the cy-mod, it sucks, then i found a nother site where it explains that you dont need to root ur phone or anything, its easy. ya'll need to have the B170 firmware, then you need to upgrade it to B188 (link : http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/02/download-huawei-p8-lite-b188-lollipop-ota-zip-europe/) If you have done all that its time to upgrade it to marshmallow and firmware B524 ya'll need this link here at the same site (http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/02/download-huawei-p8-lite-b524-marshmallow-ota-zip-europe-beta/) NOTE: you dont need to un-zip the update.zip file, just put it in the folder that is sayd there. I have dont it, im using the phone for 3 weeks now as 6.0 android ver, and its quite smoother than the 5.0.2 ver android. Some extra features etc. Its in beta yes, but if the original comes out, you will get a notif of it via update manager and it will update to the original one. ITS EASY AS THAT :D YOUR WELCOME!

HK Awan, 09 Mar 2016I tried but that doesn't work. Any other solution? the last option you can do is hard reset ... i am not sure if that will make any difference though ... the best solution is if you are still on warranty then claim it otherwise send it to a repair center.

In Case you need it .... Hard Reset :

1- power off the phone.
2- press & hold (volume up + power button) keep holding both keys until (EMUI) menu came up.
3- Select Wipe cache partition.
4- Select Wipe data/factory reset.
5- Select Reboot system now.
