Been using the Max for 2 weeks now and am totally in love with this phone or tablet or phablet..
Everything functions very well. Ota updates came flawlessly and there is no lag or bugs in the software. The camera is super good, also in low light thanks to the OIS. The screen is wonderful, no pixels or dots visible, although "only" FHD. It's really bright as well and easy to use in sunlight. I also like the auto brightness mode, it works much better than in Samsung devices, where the auto mode has to be switched off in dim light. Naturally, the best thing is the size :)
The look and feel is premium, full Metal body, no bend gates and there is a nano coating which protects against accidental splashes etc. Max is also clearly less slippery than iPhone 6. The size is perfect, it fits to my pockets and still offers a tabletlike experience, great!
I can totally recommend Max to all phablet lovers, this is the real hybrid, combining the phone and a tablet and replacing both. If it only had a fingerprint scanner, it would be perfect. But even as it is, it's the best. And half of the price of iPhone 6+, Samsung Note 5, etc...

MarioDSH, 10 Aug 2015Hi All, I've been using the P8max for the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely in love with it. ... more#MarioDSH, Dont I just love your explanation about the *Huawei P8 Max. Now I can't wait to have this phone. Those who have a problem with the size should stop complaining and just get smaller phones. Why would you complain about a Range Rover or VX Land Cruiser when you are use to Rav 4, Tiguan or BMW X3? The Specs of P8 Max are just mouth-watering. Thanks to HUAWEI!
I forgot to mention in my review that the OTA upgrade to Android 5.1.1 went flawlessly.
Also the "Where Are You?" installed app worked fine in a quiet room, although I changed the default to "Howway Hinnie, Where are you?"
(This reflects my Northern UK origin)

Excellent device.
Screen bright and sharp at 1080p...I thought that I would miss QHD, but not so.
Movies play without stutter and superb sound level albeit only mono.
Videos and camera shots are first-rate with very good low light.
I bought this 6.8" to replace my 8.4" tablet and 5.5" phone.
My only gripe, self-imposed, was to buy the Chinese version but default stuff replaced with Smart Launcher Pro, Dolphin browser and Aquamail.
So far the best service that I have ever bought, although not cheap at 350 quid.

MarioDSH, 10 Aug 2015Hi All, I've been using the P8max for the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely in love with it. ... moreGreat bro!! ur explanation on the matter is really great!! I like the concept of gadgets are helping me to focus and perform better in my day-to-day tasks as well. But some new phones are packed with lots of functions that are not entirely helpful for day-to-day needs. However, Huawei and HTC are doing fine analysing these needs so far. =)
AnonD-239830, 11 Aug 2015Mario, do you use Exchange Active Sync emails on your P8max? If yes, how is it working?Hi Pate64,
Unfortunately not, as my business account is Office365-based, not Exchange-based. The P8max works great with my Office365 account, including downloading and using the full suite of Office365 applications . . .
@Pate: Sir can i have the link for that online you mentioned when you ordered and purchase the P8max as there is still no update when it will be released here in Saudi Arabia. I want that phone too, thanks

If there are some specific features that you are looking at, please do not hesitate to shoot.

Personally I don't understand if people criticize this phone to be too big. What? This is a p h a b l e t, it's supposed to be big. If you want a smaller phone, buy the P8, Iphone 6 or something else. This one is for users who want to combine a tablet and a phone, so the size is not a disadvantage, it's a feature. If you want an easy one-hand use and speak a lot on the phone, this is probably not your device.
MarioDSH, 10 Aug 2015Hi All,
I've been using the P8max for the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely in love with it. ... moreHi and thanks for the long awaited review on the P8 Max. My unit has just arrived to my country and is awaiting customs clearance, so it will be in my hands end of this week.
I'm an international traveller as well, I work in a big international company and travel in Europe many times a month and overseas several times a quarter. I have a work SIM with a slower internet connection and a private SIM with a high speed, unlimited 4G data and this phone will be a dream come true as I can leave my iPad at home and do with one single device, a phone and a tablet that serves as work and private phone as well. A real "Swiss Knife".
It's good to hear that P8max works well and delivers the things needed. I will also review it here after having used it a bit.
MarioDSH, 10 Aug 2015Hi All, I've been using the P8max for the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely in love with it. ... moreThanks for the very detailed review. I will be getting this phone, but since only the P8 will be coming to my country and not the P8 MAX, I will look at buying a Max on one of my overseas trips in the next month or two
Hi All,
I've been using the P8max for the last 2 weeks and I'm absolutely in love with it. Please note that I'm a business user and also a frequent international traveller, as such my reasons for loving this phone may be vastly different from the readers here, but here's my take for the reasons why I love this phablet. By the way, I've always required a Dual-SIM phone and my last phone was the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra Dual and that was preceded by the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8, both of which were Dual-SIM models.
1. Some have complained that the P8max has too big a screen at 6.8". I actually have no issues using this phone single-handedly, despite it's large footprint and relatively heavy weight. It also fits nicely into my pants' pocket. While the screen is definitely large, it's compensated by the fact that it hardly has no bezel and also super-slim at 6.8mm.
2. Even up to more than a year ago, it was difficult to get a Dual-SIM phone that supports 4G/LTE. Most phones then were SIM 1 (3G/3.5G) and SIM 2 (2G/GPRS). P8max not only supports 4G/LTE, but it supports it on both SIM slots (SIM1 - Micro SIM; SIM 2 - Nano SIM). While 4G/LTE is supported on only one of the SIM slots at any one time, you can easily switch this within the Settings option called "Dual Card Management". While in Singapore, I have measured the bandwidth speed (using Speedtest.net's app) on either SIM slots (with 4G active) and can easily obtain download speeds in excess of 75Mbps in sub-urban neighbourhoods. The theoretical download speed limit on the P8max is 300Mbps (LTE Cat6).
3. While not a big user of the camera features of this phone, I find that the camera quality (both pictures and videos) to be way better than satisfactory. While it sports only one speaker, the sound quality is also next to awesome. For those who are curious, yes, it comes with a built-in FM Receiver, but you still need to plug in the headset to serve as the FM antenna. I've played some .mkv HD 1080 movies on this phone recently and they all ran superbly without any latency whatsoever. The screen legibility in sunlight is also great.
In a real-life environment, I use the P8max paired with my LG HBS-900 Bluetooth headset for my phone calls and audio/video entertainment. The Magnetic Lattice case for the P8max which comes included in the package is also a nice addition, albeit a bit of a novelty for me. The important notifications are displayed on the cover of the case without having to flip the cover open. While nice to have, I rely on my Moto 360 which is paired to my P8max to deliver the critical notifications that I need, while the phone sits nicely in my pant's pocket.
If you are like me, a frequent traveller, and require to be connected via mobile internet while travelling (without roaming), then I would highly recommend this phone. Keep your primary SIM card (home operator as a Micro SIM format in SIM 1) and maintain as many foreign SIM cards as you need in Nano SIM format. When you need to switch your data to the foreign SIM card, simply activate the 4G/LTE on the 2nd SIM slot and deactivate data on SIM 1 (eliminate data roaming) while still being able to place and receive roaming calls on SIM 1.
By the way, did I forget to mention what a pleasure it is to surf the web and read/reply emails on this gorgeous device? :-) Honestly, since using the P8max, I've come to rely less on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 which has been a frequent travelling companion of mine over the last one year or so.
If you have similar needs as I've mentioned aforesaid, wait for this phone. Patience is a definite virtue in this case :-)
Sorry, no information on the possible radio. Will tell you when I get my phone next week.
Plate64 / or anyone else
Sir
Are you able to tell me if this lovely phone has a raido ??

Just ordered this big baby! Cannot wait to get it, would like to have a tablet and a phone in same device and the dual SIM helps to keep work and private phone combined too. Had the Mediapad X1 last year but it was not perfect. This one should be much more effective with a decent camera as well
