I have tested if the allege dual camera scam is true. I've covered the one cam and use the other and detail and quality was affected when you zoom in. No overheating issues encountered (not a gamer). The front camera is pretty good in daylight (outdoor and indoor). It struggles though in extreme lowlight condition and it's normal. Monochrome camera is excellent! If colored rare cam is good in lowlight, the monochrome is superb. If only wide aperture is available in monochrome mode... Purchased this for $240 and pretty satisfied.

Simply take 2 photos with one covered the monochrome lens and one don't cover the monochrome lens, zoom-in the photo then you can tell the different.
Anonymous, 28 Aug 2017Does the P9 come with a preinstalled screen protector?Yes, mine at least (l09 eu)
A great phone, in my opinion
After using this phone for almost a year, bought at September 2016, here's my review. Camera is amazing, very fast focusing even at low light, the best camera on a phone I have used (my fastest camera is Nikon D7000 + Sigma 30mm f/1.4 but not that pocketable lol). On P9, DOF points selectable after pic taken using Huawei's default gallery. Phone's warm (stable, not overheat) after long use of camera, but so does my all other phones. Updates regularly (7.0 now). Battery drain is okay, charges up to 60% (red to yellow to green in about 40 mins) then slow charges to full. I'm not too particular about charging time but I think the phone has fast charge chip or something (idk im just a user, non techie), so it doesn't need a fast charger. I go to work at green indicator, recharge again to about 80% after 5 hours. I don't game, sorry. Lags a little on certain sites after long browsing, lags gone after I ran the default optimiser. Screen brightness is okay, need 90% or more at outdoor at noon, 60% or less indoor. Speaker is clear and loud, good for Linkin Park, lacks bass for action movies. My only wish for this phone is 4K. Review done. :/
i found something weird, recently when i checked my device cpu info with the CPU-Z app it showed that all the 8 cores are based on ARM Cortex-A53 architecture while gsmarena says that the huawei p9 has 4 ARM Cortex-A72 & 4 ARM Cortex-A53 ...plz anyone do confirm on this :(
Andreas, 12 Aug 2017Which one is better overall? P9 or xperia xz? But sony
Dropped in water.. It is not working anymore and will be thrown away.. it needs new board.. I don't know if all the other mobiles have the same problem!

They ... moreYes they don't but they're super important when it comes to taking pictures with bokeh effect, even high end phones like galaxy s7 takes a few seconds to process a background blurred pic but this phone doesn't because of its dual camera
Which mobile should I buy, P9 or Honor 8? I could not find much difference in specs. Please suggest.
Alf, 06 Aug 2017I still don't have update to Nougat. For all I know some users have. I sent question to Huawei... moreYou live in UK and still dont get nougat yet and here I am from the philippines and I got nougat already way back in february. This is quite a surprise since Im from a third world country
alexx, 02 Aug 2017hi. It doesn t work with Mirrorlink, but works with AndroidAuto.how? There is also an error for the android auto. Have you tested and worked?
The dual camera is a scam. Both lenses do NOT work together to produce one single image. They only work separately on colour/bnw photos.
AnonD-75158, 25 Jul 2017Agreed, and i think nougat 7.0 could be a last major update for this device. Wrong, because any manufacturers they are obliged to offer support for updates for 2 years so the Huawei P9 was released 1 year ago so he will get Oreo as well
