Huawei Smart wearables Announcement

Huawei's big October event brought us more than just phones. The Chinese maker has a brand new smartwatch called Huawei Watch GT that packs the promise of great battery life and all the activity tracking you'd need.

Based on Huawei's proprietary platform (and not Google's Wear OS), the Watch GT is built around a Cortex-M4 chipset with low power and high power processors. Those allow for extended battery life of the Huawei Watch GT - 30 days if you only receive notifications (no heart rate tracking or GPS), 2 weeks if you use heart rate tracking and exercise for 1:30 hour per week and 22 hours of continuous GPS, heart rate sensing and always on screen.

The Huawei Watch GT goes for a classic look with a dual crown and is made of 316L stainless steel with ceramic bezels. It comes in a Sport version and a stylish Classic one. Both are rated at 5ATM water resistance and pack a 1.39-inch AMOLED display of 454x454px resolution.

The Huawei Watch GT has an optical heart rate sensor on its bottom which uses 6 LEDs. It's backed by Huawei's TruSeen 3.0 technology which promises to be more efficient in reading your heart rate and also learn it over time.

The Watch GT naturally packs GPS too and can use it to track your daily activity and training in conjunction with Huawei's Health Assistant app.

There's also a built-in altimeter and step and sleep tracking.

The Huawei Watch GT Sport and Watch GT Classic will go on sale for €199 and €249 respectively.

Huawei also announced the Band 3 Pro. Priced at just €99 it offers a curved 0.95-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a heart rate sensor and GPS. Like the bigger Watch GT, the Huawei Band 3 Pro offers 5ATM water proofing and extensive fitness tracking.

Unless we're talking about the iFools. They MUST buy a new one every year. And if there's a special edition color launched mid cycle they'll buy that too.

I believe some of you are confusing the arm bands with the smart watches. The specs showed in the links shared above are for the bands

There's no money in smartwatches, like smartphones. Slow to update, and people tend to keep watches a lot longer than phones.
