To set Mp3's as ringtones, you can download this Program into your phone called Ringo and it'll do it for you. It has a trial period so after a few weeks, you're gonna have to pay for it.
As an alternative, you can convert your mp3's to .wav format. Watch out though, because the output (wav file) will be incredibly large.

hai, iam using an imate jam.i would like to know whetehr i can store songs ever more compressed than MP3.and video files also in compressed format.if there is any software ware and if you would let me know, i would really appreciate that.also i would like to know whether there is Wi-Fi facillity in this phone.then the battery goes down very soon, is there any solution for the battery issue.is there any audio and video softwares known which is best for this phone.i like the phone.to be honest its a sexy phone, the video clarity is fine.the sound is fine but not as good as sony ericcson.but overall IMATE is fine i like it.

yes, you can put your mp3 as your ringtone. i've done it on my fone, they can also be personalize. the best fone i have ever had. i love my pocket pc.

yes it is true for all PDA phones which are using OS earlier than Windows Mobile 5, that is, as in Windows Mobile 2003 and earlier. PDA using WM2003 and earlier needs the battery power to "retain" data in the RAM. Just like computer RAM, once power off, data in RAM are gone.
However, if u remove the battery juz for a while (less than 30min or so), the backup internal battery will kick in and perserve the RAM data. So, you would not lose RAM data without the main batt.
Thus, it affects all PDA and PDA phones that is using WM2003 and earlier. Just keep a eye on ur battery level and u are safe

hey... i am thinkin of buyin an imate jam... i wudve bought it by now but a frnd of mine said it has a weird problem... when you remove the battery the phone completely formats itself... as in it loses all data and restores to factory condition... is dis true... plz sum1 reply asap... need to knw urgently

just put mp3 files in /windows/ring folder and there are ready for ringtone.

hey how long does the battery last on this phone cos mine sucks....it last bout 10 hours max...whats up with that????? can someone tell me if this is normal or is it just that my battery is faulty? please giv me an answer
