iQOO Android vivo Announcement

The iQOO Z9 series is now two members stronger with the iQOO Z9s and iQOO Z9s Pro. On the surface the two phones share the same core specs including 6.67-inch curved AMOLED displays 50MP main cams and 5,500 mAh batteries. There are a few key differences as well so let’s take a closer look.

While both phones feature similar FHD+ 120Hz displays, the one on the Z9s Pro gets brighter with up to 4,500 nits peak local brightness versus 1,800 nits on the Z9s. Both panels feature optical under-display fingerprint readers and 16MP selfie cameras housed inside a punch-hole cutout.

The two devices also come with different chipsets. The Z9s Pro gets Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, while the iQOO Z9s goes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 SoC. Both phones are configurable with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Around the back, the Z9s and Z9s Pro share the same 50MP main cam with a Sony IMX882 sensor at the helm offering OIS and up to 4K video recording. The main cam supports AI Erase and AI Photo Enhance features too. The second shooter on the Z9s Pro is an 8MP ultrawide lens while the Z9s gets a 2MP portrait cam.

We got the chance to spend some time with the Z9s Pro at a media event in Baku, Azerbaijan and snapped up a few photo and video samples which you can check out here.

Both phones boot Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 with two Years of Android software updates and three years of security updates. You also get IP64 dust and water resistance and 5,500 mAh batteries with 80W wired charging on the Pro and 44W on the vanilla model.

iQOO Z9s comes in Titanium Matte and Onyx Green colors. Z9s Pro is available in Luxe Marble and Flamboyant Orange with the latter featuring a vegan leather back.

iQOO Z9s starts at INR 19,999 ($238) and tops out at INR 23,999($285) for the 12/256GB trim. Open sales are scheduled to begin on August 29 at noon from Amazon India and the iQOO online store.

iQOO Z9s Pro will go for INR 24,999 ($297) for the 8/128GB version and goes up to INR 28,999($345) for the 12/256GB trim. Open sales for the iQOO Z9s Pro begin on August 23 at noon from Amazon India and the iQOO online store.

IQOO is the sub brand of Vivo...both are the same company...you know right...?

Whats the advantage of curved screens? Don't get this fixation by the consumers/brands for this. This would have been good mid rangers with a flat display.

* first picture with curved disllay * Me: I'm done reading I guess. This phone could be the first phone with 5000w charging or 1 month battery life but I could not give a single fcuk if it has a curved display.
