AnonD-479751, 31 Dec 2016Wait I'll upload update package in Google drive..Please share the download link because its taking ages to download the update via phone
Earlier I asked a question in this forum that is anyone having any trouble seriously after update, but before any reply, I tried myself updating my Lava Pixel V2 for android marshmallow +VoLTE update as provided by company officially. I got some serious troubles there which i want everyone of you to know and be aware of before trying it.
First of all, the phone became very slow. It took too much time to boot up and apps also took much time to respond.
Another trouble is related to camera. The rear camera in Pixel V2 is 13 MP. But after update, if you see the settings of camera, it only shows 8 MP and after taking any photo, you get a photo of 8MP only. That's a huge engineering blunder from LAVA which is not at all expected.
Along with this, the notifications lights ("Red and green") on the phone stopped working after update. That means if you get any message or missed call, you will not see any LED light blinking.
The interface is also not good. Before update, phone looks good while using, all apps in the menu, and we can freely place shortcuts on the homescreen. But after update, this facility is also gone.
The only good point you get is that you have VoLTE support on your phone now so that you can make HD calls through reliance JIO from your default phone dialer. But without update, you can make HD calls through JIO4G voice app. So that facility is not worth of so much trouble.
And the biggest problem, if you are not satisfied by this update, you cannot rollback to previous android. I was not satisfied so I asked Lava Customer Care.
the said that the only way to rollback is to take your phone to service center. They will remove the entire android software and put a new one. That means all your data will be erased and you will get a phone in a factory condition.
How to update LAVA PIXEL V2 to android marshmallow+ VoLTE support:
If you have read and understood the above troubles, and still want to update your phone to Android Marshmallow + VoLTE support, you can do so by following the steps below. No root is required in this process.
1:- Backup your phone. Although updating doesn't erase your data but it's better not to take any risk. As I mentioned above, you might not be satisfied with the update and want your previous state back, all your data will be erased. So better to take a backup before proceeding.
2:- The update package is nearly 1200 MB file and will take several hours to download even on broadband. So better to connect to a wifi if you don't have unlimited data plan.
3:- Now go to Settings> "General Tab"> Scroll down to "System" and beneath it, you will find "About Phone" option. Tap on it.
4:- Now you will see the details of you phone software and at the botton, there is a button "Software update". Tap on it.
5:-Now you will see the current version of your android. At the botton, there is a button "Check for updates". Tap on it.
6:- Now phone will search for new updates. It might say that "Congratulation! Your device is already updated." Don't worry. Tap on "Check for updates" again. Again it will search for new updates. Keep repeating it for 10-15 times until you get the message box "Software update" saying "New update available (1206.1MB) Update Detail: Marshmallow + VOLTE upgrade."
Now tap on "OK" and your update package will start downloading.
During the download, you can use your phone normally. If you lose your network connection, don't worry. repeat the above steps and again start downloading the update. It will resume from where it left.
All the best.
